This home is located behind the gates of the Rumbling Bald Resort and is perfect for family reunions and is just a 3/10 of a mile walk to amenities. We have a built in Tesla charger for anyone with an electric Tesla. The home has 5 bedrooms plus a 6th room with an additional sleeping area (sleeper sofa). Each of the 5 bedrooms has a King bed and two of the bedrooms have an additional Queen bed. There are 4 full baths and one half bath. Master bath just remodeled. See details of rooms and bathrooms. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths main floor (2 of the bedrooms have a jack and Jill bathroom where both bedrooms share one bath where the primary has its own bathroom. The lower level has 2 bedrooms and 2 full bath. Please note that although the home sleeps 16, we are limited to 10 pool passes, but children under 12 do not need a pool pass. The passes are only required for the pools and using the gym. Unless everyone is going to the pool or gym at the same time, it doesnt matter. The home has multiple gathering areas - main living room, second living room on lower walk out level, theatre/game room, sun deck and screened in porch. Ample parking space. Twp gas fireplaces should only be used for an emergency. Golf carts can be rented through the Resort by calling the Bald Mountain Golf course.
NO MOTORCYCLES OR RVs. Resort rule. Let me know if you plan on bringing any type of trailer before booking.

Large Beautiful Home

We rented this house for my Granddaughter wedding weekend. I could have not chosen a better home. Sixteen people stayed in house, with other family member in and out. We never felt like there were that many people in the house. So many different area in inside and out that no one felt they couldn’t have a space to themselves to chill out. Beds were great. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook for a large group. Manager was great to work with and answered every question we had before we arrived. We arrived with peace of mind and ready to enjoy a wonderful weekend. Looking forward to coming back to the house and beautiful Lake Lure

Family reunion

We took advantage of the many amenities at Rumbling Bald Resort. We started the days at the beach, which was great - has a large shallow area with sandy bottom. The pool has variety for all ages and is well kept. The lazy River with tubes was enjoyable for all ages. We had several ventures to mini golf & 1 group enjoyed playing the challenges of the Rumbling Bald golf course. We rented a golf cart for the week, which was helpful in shuttling our grandchildren (& grandparents!) to the amenities. The distance was a short walk, but with some incline. We used both driveways at the house for parking (we had 5 vehicles) and were a little shocked at the steep driveways, but managed to navigate them. We heeded the bear warnings by keeping the garage door closed and hauling trash everyday. The only shortfall of the resort is that cars, people, and golf carts use the same roads to the homes. My adult children commented that separate paths / and a walking path would enhance safety. They also missed having yard space for the kids to play frisbee. But, this is a mountain type resort, so lack of flat open space is not too surprising. My husband would have wished for better access (overnight) to a kayak for fishing. The Hemlock House is spacious and well equipped. The extra freezer & refrigerator space were great! We used all of the bedrooms, and the living areas, including the screen porch. Our house manager was responsive and advised us well prior to our trip, with FAQ’s!

Tesla House

Great looking property, perfect for accommodating large groups. The fire pit was a hit. First floor access for a disabled family member was a huge plus. Would do it again if we return to the area. Host took excellent care of us.

Beautiful property nestled in the mountains of Lake Lure, NC

We had a fantastic vacation at this beautiful rental near Lake Lure. The location was absolutely breathtaking, with a view of the lake just a short distance away. The resort facilities were perfect for families, offering a range of amenities such as mini golf, a lazy river, and a stunning lakeside beach. We were delighted by the daily ice cream treats and enjoyed the convenience of poolside refreshments and food. The house itself was tastefully furnished and comfortably accommodated our large family of 14, with a well-stocked kitchen and the added bonus of pool toys and beach chairs available for our use. We happened to sleep in one of the basement rooms and noticed a bit of noise bleeding through the ceiling with activities happening upstairs, primarily in the kitchen. However, this didn't significantly impact our experience as it simply meant we started our days a little earlier, eager to enjoy all the vacation had to offer. FYI - the basement rooms may not be great for light sleepers! We highly recommend this rental to larger family groups, as it provided ample space and a great range of amenities. Overall, our stay at this vacation rental was memorable and enjoyable. The stunning location near Lake Lure, combined with the fantastic resort facilities and comfortable accommodations, made it an ideal choice for our family gathering. If you're looking for a beautiful vacation spot that caters to larger families, this rental is highly recommended.

Wedding weekend

We rented the home to be part of our son and daughter in laws wedding weekend at Rumbling Bald. We had family in from 5 states. We did get a chance to see a few of the other rental homes as well. This home has everything you need in the kitchen, baths, adequate beds (not just extra pull outs) and is clean. We had a great time.

We live in Columbia, SC; but love spending time in the Western NC Mountains with our 5 and 3 year old children, and our extended family.

I grew up going to Lake Lure every summer, and when we started a family, I introduced my wife and children to the tradition. We knew we wanted to be within the gates of Rumbling Bald, so to take advantage of all the amenities. My children love going to the beach and swimming in the pool, and when we had the opportunity to buy this house, which is walking distance to everything that Rumbling Bald has to offer, we jumped at the chance. The house has plenty of living and gathering spaces, it makes a wonderful location to get together with family. Additionally, it has minimal stairs (one set of stairs from upstairs to lower level); which makes it ideal for my elderly parents. Although the house is not technically "handicap accessible", it is probably one of the best houses for folks with mobility issues in the entire Lake Lure area.

5 bedrooms, all with a King-sized bed, give the house a great degree of versatility for groups of adults or extended family. Additional queen sized beds create additional options for children. Gigabit internet is extremely unusual in the area, and allows work-from-home, video-conferencing, and streaming video. Garage has a Tesla charger, as well as a 240v dryer outlet to allow for electric car charging. Property manager lives a couple doors down if you need anything!
