Easy access to all our activities

The property was perfect for our stay. We each had a bedroom and bathroom specifically to ourselves. The kitchen allowed us to make a quick breakfast before we were on the go for the day. The best item was how easy it was to get an Uber and we were very accessible to of the touristing activities we were doing in downtown D.C. Not Only the sightseeing of the monuments and museums but also concerts and performances we had booked and the many restaurants to choose from. Within walking distance were a couple of restaurants as well. If I have the opportunity to come back to this area I would consider using this unit again.

Clean & safe, but disappointing

Pros: The condo was clean and airy, in a safe neighborhood, quiet, and the garage is on site. Cons: No toiletries beyond hand soap. The door lock is non-standard with no instructions; it took me 10 min to figure out how to lock the door when we left the first morning (Press the Schlage button, place the key fob on the sensor, and then turn the entire assembly with the traditional keyhole to lock the bolt). There was no information on using the building accommodations, including the pool (open 12 noon to 8 pm, and you must enter via the men’s or women’s locker rooms near the exercise room; there is not a gender-neutral entrance, so be aware if this is important to you. The pool has a lifeguard, and no one is allowed in the water for the last 15 minutes of each hour while the guard is doing other duties.) There are a few broken slats in the blinds, and one of the toilet paper holders was broken; not major issues. The AC worked well, but it was quite loud, creating a kind of white noise background hum throughout the condo. We booked for 4 people, but there were only 3 towels provided, & 3 chairs at the dining room table. There were 6 pillows total provided, but 3 were so flat or lumpy they were not usable. We discovered on our last night that while the washer works well, the dryer squeaks quite loudly and it did not dry clothes after 3 tries. We notified the property manager as we were checking out, and they said they would address this.

Just what we needed

The apartment was nice and had the basic necessities. It was a very convenient walk to the train station and several restaurants. There are no ceiling fans in the bedrooms. We brought small fans with us. The WIFI password was not written on anything in the apartment. We emailed the property manager and they responded quickly.

Great stay

We really enjoyed this condo. It is clean, functional and really tastefully decorated. The location was great as well. Jay is absolutely wonderful and responded to all my questions before and during stay immediately.

Great location, very basic amenities

Good location for exploring Alexandria and DC. Close to public transportation, clean complex with nice outdoor areas (though you can hear others grilling outside your windows). The apartment itself is roomy and light. The furniture was very basic and a bit aged (sofa with what looked like a cigarette burn mark, cloth covered seats around the dining table with some food on them, IKEA type beds with older pillows and missing linens) and the amenities were very spare. No bath mat, hand soap or washcloths in the bathroom, no salt/pepper or hand towels in the kitchen, no flat sheets on the bed or cover on the aged duvet. It lacked any of the home-y touches I’ve come to anticipate in a VRBO property - no decorations, artwork, books or personal touches. On the plus side, Jay allowed us to drop our bags off an hour early on our way to a wedding, but perhaps it spooked the cleaning crew that was still there when we arrived. Although we were in and out in 2 minutes, the apartment was not well cleaned when we got back - floors unswept, food on the table and stove, etc. When I contacted Jay he was very apologetic so it may have been a one-time thing. I’ve rated well overall because it worked fine for our needs and was a great location. You just may want to plan ahead for it being a very basic environment so you’ll need to bring more with you.
