When we arrived at the rental, the house was dirty and mold was around the window sills and the vents in the rooms. I contacted VRBO about the issues and had taken pictures of the mold. The dirtiness of the house was not the issue as I could simply go to the store and buy cleaning supplies. The issue was the mold. My sister was staying in the house with us, and she is severely allergic to mold. She has been battling serious allergy problems, and this house was a real problem to her bodily health. We knew that if we stayed even 1 night in this house, it would not be good for her. When VRBO said that the only way this issue could be resolved was with the actual owner. I explained the issues to the owner, and she was trying to fix it, but the mold is not an easy fix. Mold does not just easily go away, especially when it is in multiple areas in the house. I explained that to the owner and she was not understanding at all. She also said that she had a very strict “no refund” policy even though we stayed no more than 15 minutes in the house. So we were not able to get our money back whatsoever. She did however offer to waive the cleaning fee, which I have still yet to receive. If I can offer any advice about this house, save your money and go to a hotel like we ended up doing. We wanted the access to a kitchen, but this was most definitely not worth the problems with the owner, VRBO, and the house.
