I will be as honest and thorough as I can with this review. This is not the first time visiting the holland area, but was the first time staying at this property. The online listing makes the home appear very nice. To be clear, it's an older property (maybe built in the 50's), with some updates here and there. What is deceiving however is the front of the property and the location, which you do not get until after booking. It is on a busy street, and appears much smaller (like a small ranch when you pull up). Not a deal breaker. We were surprised with the cleanliness of the home however. The floors did not seem very clean like they were thoroughly swept or vacuumed. We could not even find one to attempt to clean up a little ourselves, other than a dust pan and broom. The living room couch had quite a bit of dog hair on it and the living room rug could have used a good cleaning as well. Moving on to inspecting the beds next, some of the mattresses had several stains on them, some looking like blood stains, so that was not a comfortable feeling. We all laid extra sheets down to lay in them at night to add some extra protection.
The back yard is what makes this home (5 stars there). The close proximity to downtown Holland, shops and Holland state park and beach is also a plus for it.
