Sunset Escape | Resort Pool + Spa

Sunset Escape has spent almost a year being renovated from top to bottom! Walls, floors, ceilings and cabinets torn down and built back up to create an open space design perfect for vacation rentals. The common space is designed to be an open kitchen concept making it ideal for large groups to hang out. The kitchen boasts an expansive island with all new stainless steel appliances. Large sliding glass doors lead out to the resort-style pool and the newly built pergola to provide shelter from the sun. The three bedrooms are spacious and can accommodate up to 10 guests with 5 total beds. The master bedroom has a sliding glass door leading out to the yard, as well as one other bedroom with a private door.

This home accommodates up to 10 guests with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Additional spaces include a fully stocked kitchen, living room, dining area, designated workspace, laundry area, and a 2-car garage.
We provide a starter kit for your stay. This includes towels for the amount of guests allowed at the home, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. Further needed items must be purchased yourself.

Safely Damage Waiver: As part of our effort to help you relax and enjoy your stay, we have partnered with Safely.com to provide you with $1500 worth of coverage for accidental contents damage or property damage. This means you can vacation with the peace of mind that you wont be unknowingly charged after your check out for minor accidental damages that may happen during your stay. All we ask is that you inform us of any damage so that we can file the claim with Safely.

Payment Terms: A valid credit card is required to be kept on file upon reservation. 50% of there payment is due upon booking and the remaining 50% is due 60 days before check in. If your check in is less than 60 days away, the entire reservation amount is due upfront. We cannot change the payment terms and we cannot hold dates without payment.

Outdoor Noise Limits: All units are equipped with a NoiseAware volume tracking devices. These devices track decibel levels, but do not record sounds. Amplified noise or music is allowed outside as long as it is not Quiet Hours. Quiet hours is from 9pm-8am Sunday-Thursday and 10pm-8am Friday-Saturday, during which any speakers and all amplified noise is prohibited even if it is coming from inside the home. Any other outdoor noise must be kept to a reasonable level during Quiet Hours. These are city regulations and we must abide by them to keep our short term rental license. Upon the first notification from NoiseAware of a noise violation, we will reach out to the Guest to take corrective action. If the Guest is unresponsive or if no corrective action is taken, Guest may be liable to a $500 charge. Furthermore, if code enforcement goes to the property and issues a citation, Guest will be responsible for paying the entire citation amount. Guest authorizes manager to charge credit card on file for any fines issued by code enforcement or any charges for breaking noise policy.

Cancellations: Cancellation policy is more flexible for bookings made through our website than for bookings made through VRBO. On VRBO, for any cancellations made 60 days or more from check in, you will receive a 50% refund minus the payment processing fees charged by Stripe. For any cancellations made within 60 days from check in, you will receive no refund. If the reservation is cancelled with 48 hours from booking, you will receive a full refund minus the payment processing fees charged by Stripe as long as check in is more than 30 days away. There is a strict no cancellation policy for all major holidays, major tennis or golf tournaments, and music festivals. Festivals include but are not limited to Power Trip, Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals. Special events and music festivals that are cancelled, postposed, or altered in any way, for any reason, do not qualify for any refund, alteration of the reservation or cancellation, including Acts of God, pandemics, epidemics or health outbreaks such as COVID-19. NO CREDIT WILL BE ISSUED IN THE CASE OF EARLY DEPARTURE OR CANCELLATION FOR ANY FESTIVAL BOOKING.

Pre-Check In Link: You will receive a pre-check in link shortly after booking. Through this check in link you will have to enter some basic information regarding your reservation, will have to sign our Terms and Conditions, and will be able to purchase any additional services as part of your booking. You will not have access to the House Manual until the pre-check in link is completed.

- HOUSE RULES/ POLICIES --

1. No parties or events are allowed.

2. As per Indio City Policy for vacation rentals, outdoor Quiet Hours is between 9PM - 8AM on weekdays and 10pm-8am on weekends, during which no outdoor speakers or noise amplification is allowed. During Quiet Hours please keep outside noise to no longer than conversational level. Keep in mind these are the same rules that are expected to be followed in a hotel, in which public amenities are closed during quiet hours. If you plan to be loud and boisterous past Quiet Hours please take it inside the home.

3. Spa and pool heating are extra. $25/day for spa heating and $100/day for pool heating. Pool will be heated to 85 degrees. Please advise beforehand if you want to take advantage of pool heater as it takes 10 hours to heat the pool so it is warm by check in.

4. Early check in at 1PM ($100) and late check out at 2PM ($100) is available for an extra fee ONLY if there are no back to back bookings to allow for proper cleaning.

5. Minimum 25 years of age to book.

6. SOME pets are allowed for an extra fee ($150/pet). Please consult with the owner before bringing the pet. Maximum of 2 pets. Pets are not allowed in the pool or on the bed. While we do allow some pets with prior approval, a $500 fine will be imposed for any presence or evidence of unapproved pets found within the premises.

7. No more than 5 vehicles allowed.

8. No smoking inside the home. Evidence of smoking inside the home will result in a minimum fine of $500.

9. As per Indio City Policy, outdoor enjoyment of amenities is not allowed during Quiet Hours. This means no lounging by the pool or fire pit even if there is no outdoor noise. If code enforcement goes to the property and guests are outside past Quiet Hours they will issue a citation.

Mostly ok
The house has nice updates. Kitchen has everything you'll need. Outside space is very nice. Beds are comfortable. We had trouble with the master shower. Very low water pressure, hot water extremely slow in coming if at all, ended up using a different bathroom. Drain very slow in the guest bathroom between the bedrooms. Oven stopped in the middle of cooking salmon. The breaker box is outside the gate past the pool equipment at the side of the house. Directions to that should include "look outside the gate". The slider from the living room will not lock...it feels locked but when pulled in a normal way it opens. I would suggest a couple more soft chairs in the living area, we brought seating from the patio to accommodate everyone.

Fool's Gold - Pretty on the Outside, but a Hot Mess on the Inside
Place looks exactly like the pics, which was awesome! The instructions to get access were clear and easy. Where my dissatisfaction started was with the pool and spa heating - paid extra for both and when we checked in Friday night at 8pm, neither were on. Pool was 55 degrees. Contacted Mgt Company. They claimed they turned it on remotely - long story short the heater was broken. This was one of the MAIN reasons we picked this place. Then, that night when my friend crawled into bed, the bedframe BROKE. NO-ONE bothered to come fix/replace. My guest had to sleep on the floor. Other minor things that left me with a bad experience: toilet holder in Master bathroom missing (toilet roll sitting on back of tank); main bathroom shower had shower body wash in the conditioner holder; main bathroom toilet was clogged on 1st use - guest had to plunge; master bedroom closet floor was not vacuumed (lint/dirt left behind). I have photos to prove all of my complaints. Have asked for a $250 refund for lack of pool/spa heating and still don't have it a week after Mtg Co. said they would investigate. The owners might be amazing but the Heilos Vacation Mgt Company is awful. If you rent this home, hope that nothing breaks because you might be stuck with it.

Missing blinds in master, light shorted oven shorted out ruining Christmas dinner 15 other issues cheap house gutted and set to rent with everything cheap. Management company did nothing and VRBO did nothing. 100% crap STAY AWAY

The home was the same as the pictures listed.
Overall everything good and the family had a great time. The only problem I had was with the owner who wasn’t willing to change the date to another weekend even though there was plenty dates available. There was a mistake in the dates that I booked which was my niece’s graduation and had to miss it since the owner wasn’t willing to change the dates.
