This is a rather average apartment in a marginal area. It was decently clean for its age. Shower was broken off wall. Access via back alley a bit sketchy. Also didn’t appreciate the attempt to extort extra deposit in violation of vrbo policy.

Positives: Owners were very nice and communicative and responded instantly when I had an issue. The apartment was spotless and perfectly cleaned. It's well located. Negatives: The entire building smelled of trash and weed. The door to the apartment barely closed. The blinds were damaged in every room, no black out curtains or even regular curtains. The apartment was SO hot and it wasn't even a hot day. There were no fans, no air conditioning. It was absolutely stifling, even at midnight, so we tried to open the windows to cool things off but all the screens had massive holes in them so bugs would fly in and we had to close them again. The pull out couch was rock hard and didn't have pillow cases, and also didn't pull out to be big enough for any adult sized human to fit on. The water pressure for the shower is extremely low. It took about 10 minutes for the water to get even lukewarm and that was as hot as it gets.

January Weekend in Detroit

Glad I found this place. It provided just enough comfort, safety, and convenience during my stay in Detroit. Couch, TV, bed, shower, kitchen, table. FYI, bring your own towel. The place is walking distance to a street that has a few high quality bars/restaurants that draw in a fun crowd on weekends. Value was great for the price.
