"The kids went nuts over the night themed room. They loved it!" - Ann
Central to all downtown Lakeland, you & your family will have fun exploring the area while coming "home" to a serene, fun and unique old FL bungalow from the 1920s, full of fun design & family convos.
"What a transformation. This home is so cozy." - Steve
At the end of your long adventures, nothing is more important than a quiet, comfortable and private place for you and your family.
"True bungalow charm, so cool" - TJ
The Royal Swan is a themed home, as Lakeland is known for its gift of royal swans from Queen Elizabeth II in 1957. The master queen bedroom follows swans in their soothing and beautiful environment during the day, and the 2nd bedroom, designed mainly for kids or a 3rd adult, shares adventures of swans at night. The bedrooms are separated by the bathroom and a small nook, allowing for some privacy but also close enough to keep an eye on smaller kids.
The master is calming, relaxing and airy - it connects to its own space on the back porch, the "Conversation Room", and you can walk through the porch and loop around into the kitchen without passing the other bedroom, allowing for early morning privacy and alone time. Shades of blue and green represent the lake and lily pads swans like to surround themselves in, and a light floral wallpapered wall makes you feel immersed into a morning viewing of the swans.
The 2nd bedroom is designed for enthusiastic kids with an imagination, representing a nighttime swan viewing on the lake. A full night sky covers the ceiling, twinkling lights on the beds and wall (all can be turned off without getting out of bed), and another optional black light switch that really makes the room come to life. A twin bed and twin bunks with fluffy & soft bedding create comfort and help kids feel safe outside of their own home. Stocked with kid's books and games, they can lounge and play as they stare at twinkle lights or rest in bed and watch their own TV - all perfect after long days of adventure.
The open concept for living and dining keeps everyone together for games, relaxing and watching TV/Movies, or talking about your favorite adventures that day. The dining offers chairs or bench seating, which is great for all ages.
The stocked kitchen is full of 1920's charm, with crank windows and subway tile. Updated in necessary ways, you have a full fridge, dishwasher, stove/oven, and a small microwave. With other necessary small appliances like coffee makers (Keurig & 12 cup), small single cup blender, tea kettle and mini crockpot, you have everything you need for your stay.
The outside back patio has seating and a gas fire pit to enjoy a fire even in the hot Florida weather. Have s'mores and create even more memories under a canopy of twinkle lights and listen to music out of the bluetooth speaker that you can pair to or play music from the Alexa wired in the home. Kids can run around in the fenced back yard, play tag or ring toss while you sit and relax.
