Our recently refurbished family cottage, located in a small village in the midst of the New Forest. Walking distance to a fantastic country pub and direct access to the forest for walking & cycling. Just a few minutes from the famous Furzey Gardens-ten acres of woodland filled with rare and beautiful plants. The house has three spacious bedrooms and sleeps up to six guests. There is a large mature garden & a relaxing conservatory. You'll often see deer grazing in the garden in the early morning.
Minstead is a small village of 600 or so residents located about 2 miles north of Lyndhurst, a peaceful place, great for a relaxing getaway. It is home to a lovely country pub--the Trusty Servant--which has great beer, wine and food. There is a village shop, handy for essential items, you can grab a cup of cup of coffee there and buy some great local gifts. Furzey gardens is a pleasant walk from our cottage and has a restaurant for coffee, tea and light lunches. Try Acres Down Farm for an unbelievable cream tea! There are many other local attractions, from gardens to museums to the forest. Paultons Park Peppa Pig World, Go Ape Moors Valley Country Park, Longdown Farm, Calshot Activity Center, New Forest Aqua Park, New Forest Wildlife Park are just some of the local attractions.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes stories, is buried under the oak tree in the village's beautiful 13th century church. Definitely worth a visit.
