The unit shouldn’t be rented again until the owners remodel it-it’s way past due. As a landlord, I would be embarrassed to rent this to anyone.
The location of this unit is great but we wished we would have picked a different unit because it was totally not worth it. I could tell from the pics that it was dated, but I’m not even sure how old the pics are because this unit is awful in person.
AC - sign on the wall says don’t turn above 72 or it can freeze up. We slept with a sheet or no covers at all and still woke up sweating every night. It was awful.
Oven takes over double the cooking time - ie. chicken nuggets that normally take 10-12 mins took 25 mins.
Tile floors are disgusting from years of dirt-felt dirty when we first got here and my feet were black after walking barefoot in the unit for an hour. I wore flip flops inside most of the time & we all washed our feet before getting into bed every night. The grout and grooves in the tile are black, just years of poor cleaning.
The popcorn ceiling is black, yellow above the stove and the cabinets are greasy.
Baseboards have stains & cracking in several areas, pocket door in the bathroom had mold/mildew on it.
No door code like other units, keep up with d school keys.
Laundry - washer and dryer are listed under amenities but it’s one coin washer/dryer per floor.
There were a few pros- the bedding and living room furniture were clean. The TVs, internet and fridge worked well.
We came to play softball, but I’m not sure if I’d come back here on our own for vacation-no way to this unit.
The whole complex has a 70’s vibe to it, very dated. But the location is great - close to the beach and the beach is nice. Two pools that were nice areas but when the complex is full they are packed full.
El matador management company was helpful & responsive. The handheld shower head kept failing off, so they came and replaced it. They really couldn’t do anything about all the other issues with this unit, that’s on the owners.
