Welcome to our little piece of paradise! We have used the VRBO & HomeAway service for many years traveling around to different countries. This experience provided us three perspectives.
1. These travels provided us the opportunity to look at many different properties and locations before we decided to finally purchase this one here in St Croix.
2. This experience also allowed us to see the many different offers, amenities and unique experiences that our hosts provided and thus we applied the best of these to our unit and added more.
3. We also experienced many exaggerated offers made by the owners of some units that sounded incredible only to find that when we arrived some very disappointing realities.

Taking all these experiences into account, we want to tell you about our condo and our island.

When we purchased our unit, it was dated and was in need of extensive repair dating back from Hugo in 89 and more recently Hurricane Maria in 2017. All of the appliances and bathrooms were in need of replacement. There was no air conditioning, the old original louvred windows could not be opened and all the ceiling fans were rusted. We knew the entire condo was in need for an extensive face lift. We are very excited that our condo has been totally renovated, with new windows and central air conditioning, all fixtures have been replaced. The complex has coin operated laundry, but we felt it better to have a new washer/dryer in the unit itself to make this chore more convenient. A new kitchen and a new styled environment with designer furniture and brand accessories that adds the island charm and we are proud to share it with you. We may be a bit more in cost than some of the other units in the area, but everything in our unit is new and care free. The unit is continuously upgraded and maintained after every use. Plus we have some extra amenities you might find very useful. Please read on!

About the Area
The Cruzan Princesse Condominiums consist of 34 individuals one- and two-story units. Most of the units are owned by people who call it home. As a result, we have a very friendly and inviting community. You will need a rental car to get around the island and to get to our unit from the airport. All of units have views of the ocean and some are better than others. We are blessed to have a unit on the second floor and one of the better views from both sides of the condo. There is one parking spot provided for you close to the unit. There is a well-maintained pool on the property and there is a beach area, and both are great for sunbathing. Our beach, although nice and sandy is unfortunately not a swimming beach. (Like we said, we will be honest with our guests) Although beautiful to see and hear, the beach area in front or our units is all coral. With the proper gear, you can snorkel here no problem. Its called Turtle beach because we have had many a turtle come ashore here to lay their eggs. Not to worry though, walk a few minutes down the beach and you will find areas where you can go into swim in our warm beautiful waters. If you’re looking for those white sandy beaches to frolic in the waves that are in all the brochures about Saint Croix well, they do exist, but most are all protected park areas and are easily accessible by car. We have free Wi-Fi in our unit so directions to these beaches can be easily found with their hours of operation. We provide four beach chairs and a cooler for you to use when going to the beach. We also provide a book in our unit that lists all the places we enjoy dining and shopping at. A few are high end dinning, but most are our favorite dives that we love to go to and enjoy the island cuisine and people. We have also taken steps to make sure our condo is secure and safe. There is also 24/7 security cameras in position all over the property.

We have a guest book here in the condo that will assist you with everything we think you will need to enjoy your stay here. It lists a lot of our favorite restaurants and dives to hang out. Best Snorkeling, Live Music and more . But here are some things to take into account before you arrive.

Cup Tip
If you did not bring it with you then you need to buy one right away. This is either a cheap tall plastic mug or a nice island Yeti type with a STX logo tall cup. Why? Well, you can mix your drink at home here, then carry it with you into any restaurant or bar you go into. Yes, its crazy, but totally allowed here. You can even go back out to your car and make another one and bring it in. Plus, you can have any drink you order poured into your cup. The reasoning is that everyone’s drink gets warm so if you don’t have an insulated cup so you might as well bring one with you! Plus it will save you a lot of money buying that first drink!

Mosquito Tip
If you are prone to getting bit, they will find you here. They are the “no see em” type and usually early morning and just at dusk is when they are the worst. Take Mosquito repellent with you where ever you go, leave it in the car, just so you have it should you need it. A lot of outside restaurants have cans sitting around that are available. Bring a can with you, like everything here it will be expensive to buy while on the island.

Sun Tip
Definitely bring suntan lotion with you! We recommend SP 50! We are sun lovers and don’t burn easily, but the sun down here is intense. A few uncovered hours at the beach could ruin you whole stay. Pack whatever you think you will need because again, its expensive down here and they don’t have a big a selection as on the mainland. Also, bring hats and sunglasses to cover on the beach. Although we have a beach umbrella here for you to use, some beaches will not allow you to use it because of possible turtle nests.
