The Space:
This luminous townhome, located in the peaceful town of Akumal, is inside a private community called TAO within Bahia Príncipe. TAO is surrounded by lush foliage, golf course views and a warm relaxing ambiance.

The main spaces of this townhome:

- A beautifully stylish space with a living room area that features a comfy sectional sofa and direct access to a private terrace with a plunge pool and stairs that lead up to the private rooftop

- 2 comfortably furnished bedrooms and 2 bathrooms to accommodate 4 guests as such:

BEDROOM 1: (master) 1 king bed, private ensuite bathroom & access to the private terrace area
BEDROOM 2: 1 queen bed, beautiful foliage views, ample storage & shares the full communal bathroom

- A wonderfully spacious and fully-equipped kitchen complete with a refrigerator/freezer, oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, cookware and more so you can prepare meals at home.

- A fabulous breakfast bar at the gorgeous granite kitchen counter with bar stool seating for 4 - which also makes a great laptop workspace if needed

- A cozy card table for 4 for a game of cards of an intimate dinner

- A great private terrace with a plunge pool and table seating for dining al fresco, plus access to a private rooftop area too

- Washer and dryer in the unit

- Free parking at the community

- Wi-Fi, Plasma screen TV with Satellite TV service, AC for comfort, fresh linens & towels all provided

Your stay at TAO Community will allow you to enjoy life at a slower pace and have access to exclusive amenities, which include two lap pools, a full gym, a yoga studio, and a wellness spa. Nearby vital amenities and beach activities can be enjoyed at the Jungle Fish beach club and Kay Beach Club, all within a 15-minute drive.

Akumal is truly a natural wonder. In Mayan, Akumal means The Place of Turtles and it lives up to its name as it’s one the finest snorkeling spots in the Mexican Caribbean, and it hosts a marine research center dedicated to protecting the turtles. There are also many things to see and do around Akumal, like water activities like snorkeling, scuba, paddle boarding, kite surfing, and boating. Plus, eco-parks with underground rivers, ancient Mayan ruins, cenotes (natural sinkholes) and much more.

Guest Access:
You’ll have full, exclusive access to the townhome, terrace pool and rooftop during your stay.

The Neighborhood:
The townhome is located in TAO, a private community inside Bahia Principe in Akumal. Akumal means “Place of the Turtles” in the ancient Mayan language, making it a fantastic spot for snorkeling activities.

- At TAO Community, you can enjoy amenities like 2 lap pools, a full gym, a yoga studio, and a spa.
- Nearby vital amenities like grocery stores and beach activities like Jungle Fish beach club, all within a 15-minute drive.
- Swim with turtles at Akumal Bay, visit the Wellness Center or lounge and eat at La Buena Vita!
- Many eco-parks nearby w/underground rivers, ancient Mayan ruins & cenotes (natural sinkholes)
- Golf course in the community, Casa Club at Tulum Country Club
- 25 miles to Playa del Carmen & 16 miles to Tulum, fabulous towns w/shopping and a large variety of dining options

Getting Around:
Guests have a free parking space on the premises which makes it very easy to get around the area. The townhome is about a 1 hour and 12-minute drive from the Cancun International Airport (CUN) or about 94 km | 58 miles away, inside the Gran Bahia Principe at the TAO community. Driving times vary depending on time of day, it's best to check your mobil map app when you arrive.

Renting a car is highly recommended. However there is a shuttle bus that comes to the area every 35 minutes and travels around the whole complex and then gets to the main road where you can take public transportation from there.

Other Things to Note:
Electricity is expensive here, so please help save energy by using the AC only when needed, closing all windows and doors when it's on, and shutting it off every time you leave. A daily allowance of 20Kw/Day of electricity is included for short-term rentals (2-27 nights). Additional consumption will be charged at 3.85 mxn/kw. Electricity is not included for bookings of 28 nights or more. On arrival, our local team will take a meter reading, and again on departure. You will be billed after check-out for any additional consumption.

There is no daily housekeeping but a mid-stay cleaning can be requested for an additional fee.

For long-term stays (21 nights or more) there is a fee of $60 USD for a mid-stay cleaning service.

Pets are not allowed at this property. The owner has severe pet allergies, so this rule is strictly enforced. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Guests who stay at this property have access to the Kay Beach Club and Mulligans Sports Bar/Cafeteria at no additional fee (guests pay only what is consumed).

We do supply some bath essentials to get you started, like some toilet paper, and soap. These items are not replenished each time you run out.

Guests will be requested to sign a Rental Agreement upon booking confirmation.

A security deposit may be required prior to arrival or at check-in, subject to the booking platform used to make the reservation. This fee is charged as a credit card transaction and refunded after check-out, provided all terms are met.

There are security cameras on the premises facing the exterior hallways. These are used for security purposes and guest safety only.

Lastly, long-term stays are available.

HOUSE RULES
- Travelers must be at least 21 years of age or older to book.
- No smoking of any kind (tobacco or cannabis) is allowed inside the condo, and the use of any recreational drugs on the premises is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply will incur a $300 penalty.
- No parties or events are permitted, illegal activity is prohibited, and excessive noise won't be tolerated. No loud music is allowed after 10 pm. Please be respectful of the neighbors.
- No more guests than those listed in your reservation are allowed. No tent or other structures may be set up on the ground of the property.
- Renters agree to cover any charge related to damages that occurred during their stay or cover necessary extra-cleaning charges if needed after their stay.
- Renters may be required to provide a government ID on the day of check-in or during their stay.
- Please avoid moving furniture.
- Pets are not allowed. The owner has severe pet allergies, so this rule is strictly enforced.

Interaction with Guests:
The place is self-check-in using the lockbox to access the door key. The lockbox code will be provided within 24 hours of your arrival, as it changes after each guest.
