Great holiday home close to Solitaire Lodge, looking out across the Otumutu Lagoon, with steps down to the lake where there is a wholly owned jetty and half share in a boat shed. It is worth mentioning that I can accept your booking directly and with no web fees. You can find this property at my 2Lakes Holiday Rental site. This area in the lagoon is sheltered from all winds so you can rest easy knowing your boat is safe and secure, and even sheltered if parked in the boat shed. The bay has a launching area at Bay View Road.
The house is comfortable and well set up with 3 bedrooms to suit 6 adults, and 2 kids. The upstairs bedroom has a double bed, another room has 2 singles, and a room with a queen and a 2 kids bunk beds. A single bathroom and one toilet. The house faces north so gets good sun onto the deck that looks out over the bay and an outstanding view of the Otumutu Lagoon. There are 2 kayaks and various sized lifejackets available for guests use.
Heating is via a large new heat pump recently installed.
A must do is the "Queens chain" or is the Kings chain walk now, around to the main part of the lake. You can join this from the boat shed (head towards Solitaire lodge) The sandy swimming beach in Te Karamea Bay is where you go for a dip!
If you are planning a trip into the city, about a 20 minute drive, Eat Street in Tutanekai St central city runs a food market on Thursday nights with all sorts of ethnic foods available and definitely worth a visit.
