We use a eco composting toilet system which is new, clean and fresh for each stay. The toilet is is 4 metres from the main cabin, out of the back door.

The cabin is about an 80 metre walk up from the bottom of the section where you can park. So you will need to be able to walk up the hill, it's not very steep, and affords you the great views while being only a minute or two from the waters edge.

McKenzie Reserve is our local, regenerating bush walking track. Many other coastal and forest day walks are nearby. We are also the Te Ara Hura national walking track.

Enclosure bay is a well kept secret, one of the quieter Northern coast beaches, just a minute or two from the cabin. Enjoy a swim, snorkel or kayak, you might get to meet our resident octopus if you're lucky. Waiheke is home to numerous vineyards, a local brewery, Saturday arts and crafts market, with many culinary delights to discover. Sandy bay is a few more minutes walk away, just along the road. Palm Beach is a larger, more populated beach, about a ten minute drive away, or 30 minute walk. Palm beach shop can provide you with icecream and restaurant Arcadia available for some lunch and evening meals.

It's only a 10-15 minute drive to gorgeous wineries with restaurants such as award wining Casita Miro. Mudbrick, Cable Bay. The Heke is Waiheke's own boutique brewery. Another highly rated restaurant, 372, you'll find at Onetangi Beach, 12 minutes drive away.

The stars look better from Waiheke. We are in a mostly unlit neighbourhood so the stargazing is fantastic on a clear night.
