Denna lägenhet ligger i en byggnad med 5 våningar med skärpa där Baron Forrester bodde.
Joseph James Forrester är den första som ritade kartorna över Douro som är av största vikt (fortfarande idag) samt en mycket värdefull topografisk undersökning av Douro-floden.
Belönad 1855 av kungen av Portugal Pedro V, fick han titeln Baron Forrester.

Location, location

We stayed at the same apartment in 2015. The location on the Ribeira is ideal for people who like to walk: a short stroll to the river and the port houses of Gaia, and also to the restaurants up the hill in Porto.Our companions did not like the hard bed in the main floor bedroom, and they complained also about noise at all hours from the street traffic.It was a great place to relax in the evenings, after many thousands of steps during the day.

Sleeps two comfortably

The location of this unit was wonderful. The check in process was disappointing as we had to wait in the rain, although I had followed the instructions and reached out to the contact 45 minutes before our arrival. The contact was delayed and apologetic. I contacted the host before booking for confirmation that there was a futon in the living room. There is not. Rather it’s a leather chaise couch. Our 6’2” son had to sleep on it for three nights. It was uncomfortable, short and slippery. The second bedroom had a single mattress that was rock hard. As in, it may as well have been a box spring. The loft bedroom had a comfortable bed. Our bar was high as we had just come from a similarly priced and well-located apartment I. Lisbon that had wonderful. as-advertised sleeping conditions. Clearly, sleeping comfort is a priority for us when we travel and something I pay close attention to, if you can sleep anywhere this unit is ideal for a visit to Porto.

Fantastic Location

We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It was clean and well maintained, and the perfect amount of space for 2 couples. The location was ideal for exploring Porto. Highly recommend!

Excellent location and spectacular view of the river from balcony

The property was spacious, beds comfortable and kitchen was perfect. The location was great especially close to really good restaurants. The balcony with river and cathedral views was my favorite. Our host was very helpful and check in was very easy. Would stay here again.

A great apartment, in a very centre of Porto, with breathtaking views of both Douro river and Palacio da Bolsa! Beautiful inside and just steps away from all the riverfront activity and restaurants!

Wonderful apartment near Douro River!

This was an amazing “find”!! Situated within Porto’s famous historic district, you are steps away from terrific cafes, restaurants and popular attractions. The duplex is well-appointed with a modern kitchen, efficient air-conditioning, and scenic views of the Douro River and bridges! Marc (and Rita!) were wonderful hosts, and we look forward to our next visit back to Porto!

Great stay With family from California

This location was amazing to walk out your door and visit restaurants and shopping and all the attractions. My only comment would be that my daughter said the downstairs bedroom had a very uncomfortable mattress, but otherwise the apartment was amazing.

Great Location

Location and property were beautiful, well kept, and clean. The check in process was a bit disorganized, and the attitude of the person checking us in was less than positive. Some items were lacking( soap, toilet paper, tissue, etc) but nothing that took away from the positive experience. Overall, I would definitely recommend this property

Marc’s apartment is easy to access and a pleasant, spacious stay. centrally located, you are looking up the hill to cleirgos on one side and across the river to gaia the other. the walks up and down the beautiful neighborhoods will have you feeling very lucky to have an elevator in a historic location. defininitley recommend and would return!

Fantastic Location and Beds

Our 5 nights at the property were more than we expected. One small timing issue upon checkout was easily managed by the host. We would certainly stay in the apartment again.

We walked all of the Porto center with no need for public transportation. Great views of both towards and away from the river. Had a nice stay.

Historic Center - Porto

Great property with a great location. It was in the middle of everything with great views as well. If we go back to Porto, we'll definitely be staying at this property again with no hesitation.
