Ta en resa tillbaka i tiden dÄ livet var mycket enklare. Det finns inget annat Àn tystnad, ljudet frÄn Rio Hondo-floden och raslingen frÄn Ärhundradet gamla bomullsvedar. Du kan sitta vid en 100-damm och titta pÄ den vÀnliga Mr. GÄs och de vilda grÀsandandarna eller sÄ kan du stÀlla in vid floden Hondo och titta pÄ hur det Àr vÀgen till Rio Grand.
En kort gÄngavstÄnd till den andra sidan av fastigheten Àr den fungerande delen av gÄrden, bestÄende av alpakkaer, kycklingar och naturligtvis de milda Great Pyrenees som vakar över alla. Du kan lÀra dig Alpacas historia och besöka studion för att se vad vi gör med Alpaca-fibern.
Vi ligger pÄ en 13 tunnland privat hÀlften mellan Taos och Taos Ski Valley.

Tranquil cottage

Beautiful grounds

This house is on a beautiful property on both a stream and a pond. We enjoyed sitting outside in the evening and watching the fish jump. The house is made of thick adobe and stayed cool even on hot days. The owners are friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay!

Best Stay Ever

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed at while on vacation. It is a bit of heaven nestled in the mountains and so peaceful!! Jun and Jim are wonderful hosts.

Gorgeous 13 acres.

As others have said, the pictures dont do it justice. We so enjoyed just resting and relaxing on this beautiful, well landscaped property. Jun and Jim were so accommodating. We were celebrating our 60th Anniversary and are so happy we found this secluded jewel.

Peaceful, beautiful and restful

We were taken back by the tranquil setting. Our host were so welcoming and helpful. Just to be able to rest in a beautiful place and enjoy the cool air. We also liked the Alpaca, dogs, chickens and critters.

Peace and convenience to skiing.

I had a peaceful retreat at Jun’s farm while being in close proximity to Taos Ski Valley. The cottage was well appointed and very comfortable. The kiva was my favorite feature. This will be my go-to place whenever I’m in Taos!

An Oasis

The property is very rural with a dirt/gravel drive, ending in an absolutely beautiful yard, including floral landscaping, trees and a pond with muskrat at play. The adobe was nice and comfortable. The hosts were lovely. We hope to visit again.

Loved this property.

Beautiful property off the beaten path near Taos. The owners are wonderful and gracious. I was able to meet the alpalcas and feed them a treat. We enjoyed our time sitting by the river and pond. Lots to do and see in the area to occupy our time. The cottage was clean and so pretty. Bed very comfortable. Amazing, beautiful place to unwind from the daily grind. We will be back thank you for sharing with us.

The issue I had was getting to and from the property, at all times. I could not come and go during evening hours because the property is so difficult to find in the day time, let alone after dark. Roads are poorly marked in that rural area and there is no signage to help guide that related to the property. It's a simple fix but not a single sign to help locate the property. Once there, it is a lovely property but maybe as a single female traveler I would be more thoughtful about access for future bookings.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sloping Porch. The host was attentive, the cottage was clean, and it was in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The location was perfect and just15 min to town.

It was disappointing that the alpacas had been relocated. Otherwise, the property was very serene and lent itself to a wonderful place for inner reflection. Rooms were immaculate. June and Jim were so cordial. I would like to return.

We bought this property because of the beauty of the Valdez Valley, the ability the raise animals and being able to start a hospitality business.

The guest cottage has just been newly remodeled and redecorated.
We are located 6 miles from the north side of Taos and at the base of Ski Mountain. 8 scenic miles to the lifts.
