Great house in a great neighborhood

First time in Santa Fe, we wanted to be in an authentic neighborhood, in an authentic Santa Fe home, that was walkable to all the things to do and close to the plaza. This home was great, lots of space had everything we needed with so many different areas to enjoy within the property inside and out. Also, the pictures don’t do it justice. Host was friendly and responsive when we had a question on the first night, would definitely recommend. Read the property guide when you first arrive so that you understand the property. We are from Georgia and always expect blasting A/C, so we just had to learn about how the house works and how Santa Fe does it. Again, highly recommend! Would stay again!

Lovely home in a great location

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay in this lovely NM style adobe home. The kitchen is well-appointed and the fireplace set up and gift of wine were really nice touches! Museums and historical sites were an easy walk away. We would definitely rent this home again.

Beautiful location and well stocked home!

This place was exactly what we needed for our family’s stay in Santa Fe. Close to the plaza, and within an easy drive to everything else! The outside seating areas were wonderful in the afternoon sun. The house was so clean and the kitchen had all the necessities to make a home cooked meal. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely home in walking distance to old town

Ellie's is a fantastic home with tons of New Mexico charm. I stayed with my wife and three kids 12-16. We loved it. The roll-out bed meant that there are four total beds and every kid got their own bed. The decor and locally themed books are lovely and made us feel very welcome and immersed in Santa Fe. The neighborhood was pretty quiet, and the garage parking was appreciated. Best of all, the house is walkable to the old town plaza area (about a 15 minute walk) as well as several other fun spots (Revolution Bakery, Kakawa chocoaltes). Check-in and check-out were both quite easy with good information and no hard or unusual check-out requirements.We had a great time and would happily stay again.

Christmas in Santa Fe

The house was sprinkled with Holiday spirit. It was quite lovely. The house was warm and inviting upon arrival except I forgot about the alarm and sent my sister running to the garage for the alarm code. Ellie called to make sure everything was okay.The house was well equipped and provided us what we needed to enjoy the stay. One thing I would like to touch on is the fireplace. I have a wood burning fireplace at home and am completely comfortable using one. I followed the instructions with regards to the damper, however the house still became smoky. We turned on the light switch next to the fireplace. I don’t know if that was connected to the fireplace but it seemed to help pull the smoke up and out. We let the fire die and we didn’t use it again. We loved the house and the closeness to town and Canyon Road. I hope we will be able to come back and enjoy the house again next year!Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Cozy home close to everything!

Roomy home and so glad for the garage as it snowed ALOT!! Had some issues that were immediately fixed by Reina to our satisfaction…..loved that 2 bedrooms were on one side of the house and the master on the other….

Lovely stay in Santa Fe

A well maintained and personable home that enhanced our stay in Santa Fe. The location is convenient to everything but is in a quiet and peaceful neeighborhood. The home is well stocked and charmingly decorated in Santa Fe style. We especially enjoyed the three outdoor spaces for relaxing at the end of the day or a cup of coffee in the morning. True gem in Santa Fe

We stayed at Ellie’s for two weeks and had a wonderful time. The location is perfect—walking distance from both downtown and the rail yard. The house is beautiful, with lovely outdoor space. The kitchen is well equipped and a joy to cook in. Plenty of room for us, with three adults and two kids. The beds were really comfortable. We had to work while we were there and the Internet was excellent, with lots of different spaces to work from. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful stay in Santa Fe

We booked this stay for the Indian Market and it was the absolutely perfect property for that! Walking distance to the Plaza and completely quiet, the perfect sanctuary after a busy day at market. This house works perfectly for a group of friends and we felt like it was our home away from home. The host was great at communicating and we had a wonderful stay.

Absolutely Perfect

Four of us booked Ellie's Place for three nights. We were going to the Santa Fe Opera. We have stayed in motels and a rancho north of the opera. But Ellie's Place has been the best of them all. It had that Santa Fe ambience decoratively and perfectly fit the four of us. The neighborhood was quiet and we all slept soundly. We oooed and ahhhed from the moment we walked in. Often, we found ourselves gathering around the kitchen island and just talking or reading the opera program or figuring out where to have breakfast. We normally tailgate at the opera. But the second night it rained and we ate on the upper patio, deciding that we might do this again next year instead of tailgating. All in all, we had a perfect stay.

Location! Location!Location!

We came to Santa Fe for the International Folk Art Festival and it did not disappoint! Neither did our VRBO!!! The location was fabulous! We walked to The Plaza, The Railyard and Canyon Road. The Museums on the Hill are less than a a two minute drive! The home was exactly like the photo's but better! Very quiet & safe neighborhood! The house is so well stocked we could have stayed a month! Thank you to our hosts!

Ellie's for several days

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ellie's. The location is in a quiet neighborhood south of the capitol within walking distance of the plaza and other key destinations (El Chile Toreado and Sage bakery!). The house is beautifully decorated. It felt welcoming, homey and comfortable. The owner, Reina, was very responsive and provided detailed information so check-in was a breeze. We also appreciated that she contacted us on the day of arrival to let us know the house was ready several hours before the stated check-in time of 3pm. We look forward to staying at Ellie's on our next visit to Santa Fe.

Beautiful home

The hosts are wonderful and the home was perfectly located. The kitchen is well stocked. Host left us cream in the refrigerator, coffee, and a bottle of wine. The beds were very comfortable. We all oved the multiple patios. Great Stay

Ellie’s is a beautiful, well maintained property in a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend the property to anyone visiting Santa Fe. Reina was wonderful to work with. She was extremely responsive and when we encountered some travel challenges, she was also very accommodating.

Perfect second stay!

This was our second stay at Ellie's. I can't imagine a more perfect place for a Santa Fe getaway. We could walk to the plaza, numerous restaurants, and a grocery store. The house is extremely well stocked with everything a person might need. We were so thankful for the air conditioning over that warm weekend too!

Natives of Santa Fe, Reina Roybal Romero and Michael Roybal are siblings who grew up in the family home, 210 E. Buena Vista. Both attended Wood Gormley and Harrington Jr. High, neighborhood schools. Michael lives in Santa Fe and Reina lives part-time in Santa Fe and in Albuquerque with husband, James.
Ellie is the matriarch of the family and the house is named in her honor.

This house was at one time Reese Cradle Home a birthing center which accommodated the many baby boomers born in Santa Fe in the late 1940's and early 1950's.

The majestic Cathedral Basilica is close by and visitors will hear the tolling of bells calling worshippers to services. Hungry for delicious food? Walk to popular eateries for pizza, New Mexican food, chile burgers, or some very fine dining. History buffs will enjoy the many museums and historic sites as they walk downtown including our state capitol building. Need groceries? Visitors will appreciate the nearby local grocery (known to be frequented by famous actors) which has been a Santa Fe staple for years. Art lovers will enjoy the many galleries along Canyon Road which is an easy walk from 210. Santa Fe has a huge grower's market offering wonderful selections of home-grown products including our famous chile. Drive to the Sangre de Cristos for spectacular views including golden aspen trees changing color in the fall.
