Cathay House is a pretty cottage situated down a quiet lane in Cheddar, Somerset. Hosting three bedrooms, including a double with en-suite shower, twin and childrens bunk, along with a bathroom, this property can sleep up to six people. There is also a kitchen, dining room, sitting room with electric fire and a sun room. To the outside is an enclosed courtyard with seating and off-road parking for three cars. Cathay House is a lovely escape to this popular part of Somerset. Please Note: The bunk room at this property is not suitable for adult use - this property accepts a maximum of 4 adults.

Great location

On the whole a nice property, we encountered a few problems, Internet was poor , the tap in the kitchen didn't work, but still had a very pleasant stay, and would return, cold do with someone definitely return

Quiet

Lovely quiet place, perfect for a peaceful break. Very clean everywhere, comfortable beds. Easy five minute walk to a supermarket. Generally everything you need. There were a few negatives. The stairs were steep and you couldn’t reach the handrail without leaning forward. Not for the unsteady on their feet, which would have been nice to know as both of us had trouble. The off road parking is really difficult to get into as the lane is too narrow. We ended up leaving the car out on the street as it was so awkward to get in. The front door needs pulling forward really hard to unlock, you needed to get the knack of it. Again, we wished we had known, as we did panic when we arrived because we couldn’t get in at first. No tea or milk left as promised but we found the shop easily. Otherwise, it was great.
