We had a lovely time. You do need a car and I would advise getting there before dark as it is down a track. The owner is very accommodating and will meet you to direct, which is most helpful.

Rural stay in a traditional finca

We spent 3 weeks in January here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The finca is a traditional stone building set on a small farmholding surrounded by lemon and orange trees, backed by the mountains and with a view of the sea. There is a large grassed area by the house with a big swimming pool (unheated - a bit chilly to use in January) but has sun loungers beside it which we did use. There are two patios which catch the sun in the morning once the sun is up over the mountains. The house was well equipped and Santiago and Carlos (who own it) and their very helpful employee, Ferdinand, made sure we always had plenty of firewood for the fire and oranges for the juicer. They were very attentive and checked regularly that we had everything we needed as well as giving us lots of information about the area and places to eat, walk etc. The house is stone-built to resist the hot summers so in January was chilly inside at times but this was not a problem as there were heaters and the fire to keep the place warm. The sitting room has comfy sofas around the fire so it felt cosy in the evenings. You do have to be a fairly confident driver as the roads up through the village (La Florida) and the private track up to the house are very steep but we just had a Fiat Panda for the two of us and it did a great job of getting us up the hills. There are a couple of local restaurants and cafes a ½ hour walk away down in the village or plenty to choose from in L’Oratova and Puerto de la Cruz.

Beauty of Rural Tenerife

If you want to enjoy Tenerife but away from the crowds and clubs, then this is the place to go. Traditional farm house in the midst of orange, lemon, avocado trees with views of the sea and the volcano El Tiende! Excellent centre for visiting the north facing coast and also the Volcano ~(a trip not to be missed!) Our host could not have been more attentive and helpful. We hope to go again.

Exceptional property

If you are looking for all mod-cons and in a busy area, this is not the property for you. However, if you're looking for a traditional Spanish finca in a quiet area, this is ideal. We loved being able to escape from it all, lovely pool and, although the roads are steep, we easily found our way around and visited some exceptional local areas. Great recommendations from our hosts who were checking in regularly. Could not have asked for more.

Erholung pur

Wir konnten den Aufenthalt in vollen Zügen genießen, sowohl als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge, Wanderungen und Strand als auch das Gelände selbst mit seinen weitläufigen Gartenanlagen und dem gepflegten Pool.

Abgelegene, wunderschöne Fonca

Ruhig gelegen (außer Hunde und Hähne, die jenseits der Mauer zu jeder Tages- und Nachtzeit von sich hören lassen), eine schöne und geräumige Finca. Auto zwingend erforderlich, weder Restaurants noch Supermärkte sind fußläufig erreichbar. Im Februar war es im Haus sehr frisch, Kaminfeuer und Fleecejacke waren abends definitiv nötig

traumhafter Rückzugsort im Orotavatal

Wir haben zwei Wochen im August gebucht und den Aufenthalt auf der Finca sehr genossen. Die Vermieterfamilie ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Pool und der Ausblick in die Berge einfach wunderbar. Die Finca ist stilvoll eingerichtet und verfügt über alle angegebenen Einrichtungsmerkmale. Wir wünschen der Familie alles Gute und hoffen, dass die Finca von den Feuern verschont bleibt

Séjour exceptionnel

La propriété est située en hauteur dans un canyon au milieu de vergers avocats, orangers, de fleurs . La grande piscine est cachée au milieu de végétation avec chauses longues. La vue est fantastique de tous les cotés. La maison est charmante chaulee avec des poutres et meubles en bois. Un salon cosy , 3 terrasses, un roof top, une cuisine bien équipée, chambres cosy avec literie correcte. Nous y avons passé 6 jours merveilleux, proche de Orotava et Puerto Cruz,villes complementaires très sympathique. Que du plaisir!

Grand villa in the hills

Great large property nestled in a local village. Close enough to walk for morning coffee or local restaurant meals (6-15minute walk with hill). Well equipped. Extremely comfy beds. Jacuzzi bath was a nice surprise along with the tasteful traditional decor and huge fire. Much reccomended!

Urlaub im Orangenhain

Rustikale Finca in ländlicher Umgebung am Hang, kurzer Weg von und nach La Orotava, der auf der steilen Zufahrt etwas „fahrerisches Können“ voraussetzt 😉. Die Finca liegt in einem riesigen, mit Orangenbäumen, Avocadosträuchern und vielen verschiedenen Blumen bewachsenen Grundstück und verfügt über einen schönen großen Pool, der sich im gepflegten Garten befindet. Das Haus selbst hat „rustikalen Charme“ und ist landestypisch und funktionell eingerichtet und ausgestattet. Von der Dachterrasse aus hat man einen Blick über das Tal bis zum Meer. Hunde- und Hühnerhaltung im Nachbargrundstück verursachen durchaus Geräusche, haben uns aber nicht allzu sehr beeinträchtigt. Vielen Dank an die Gastgeber Carlos und Santiago, die uns herzlich empfangen und mit vielen nützlichen Tipps versorgt haben. Die in der Finca vorhandenen Reiseführer sind aktuell und bieten hilfreiche Informationen für Ausflüge auf Teneriffa.

Stunning secluded scenery on a orange, lemon and avocado farm

We stayed at this charming Finca from 2nd to 16th April 22. Our first time in Tenerife. This Finca is very secluded and set in an amazing valley surrounded by stunning mountains, looking down at the ocean and Puerto del a Cruz. The Finca comes with a very private, large clean and well maintained swimming pool, with comfortable pool loungers and although unheated, was thoroughly enjoyed. The Finca itself was very characterful. The living area was large but very cosy, complemented by a large fireplace and was kept well stocked with wood. We used the fire every night, it got chilly at this time of year. Kitchen and bathrooms could probably do with updating but were clean and had everything we needed. Beds were extremely comfortable which is always a bonus. The roof terrace got the early morning sun and had stunning mountain views and views of the ocean. The scent from the oranges that we could pick and juice for breakfast was wonderful. The drive up initially isn't easy and not what you would expect but you quickly get used to it. The Finca is on a farm and nestled into the local community which does come with surrounding local noises, cockerels, dogs...early morning and late afternoon, but is generally a part of living in the country and didn't bother us at all. We would recommend taking games, and playing cards and English books as there were non in the property. We would also recommend bringing a fire stick or android stick ...WiFi is good but nothing available on TV...use these to gain access to your usual movies should you want to watch them of an evening. Perfect place for walking and easy access to La Oratava, Puerto De a Cruz and mount Teide. Great hospitality and owners very attentive to our needs. Thankyou, The Hunter family

Lovely stay

We had a great time staying at this Finca. The hosts could not have been more helpful - we had an issue with the hot water which they fixed quickly and the property was clean and well equipped. We got a little chilly as the weather wasn't great, so i'd recommend bringing a few extra layers in the cooler months. They were extremely friendly and brought us fresh avocados from the farm, and we regularly picked oranges and lemons for our breakfast. Our daughter (2.5yrs) loved playing outside and on the roof. The swimming pool was too cold for us to use regularly (it is not heated) but it was still a sun trap so we spent time sitting by it in the evenings. We hired a 4X4 because other reviews suggested it was necessary - the roads nearby are very good quality but some very steep so i would recommend this. Around 15 mins drive to La Orotava (plenty to do and see and lovely restaurants) and 25 to Puerto de la Cruz (lots of beaches and restaurants). We would happily return to the finca, many thanks for having us.

Gelungener Teneriffaaufenthalt

Die Lage in La Orotava war für uns optimal, da wir die Insel erkunden wollten. Die Zeit vom 4.12.2021 bis 26.02.2022 verging im Flug. 3 Monate haben wir die Finca genossen. Der Vermieter war immer für uns ansprechbar, genauso wie Maria die Reinigungskraft und Fernando der Plantagenarbeiter und Haustechniker. Gab es ein Problem wurde dies sofort behoben. Insgesamt für uns drei wunderbare Monate.

Charmante Finca auf tollem Grundstück. Nerviges Hundegebell von Nachbargrundstück...

Charmantes Haus in mitten von einer Orangen -und Avocadoplantage im Orotavatal. Das Haus war sehr gepflegt und sauber. Zu dieser Jahreszeit liegt es aber doch recht schattig im Tal. Temperatur 5°C kälter als unten am Meer. Im Haus braucht man daher den Kamin und die Elektroöfen und trotzdem ist es noch recht kalt. Toller Pool, welcher zu dieser Zeit leider zu kalt ist. Sehr herzlich wurden wir von Carlos begrüßt. Im Haus war ein Begrüßungspaket mit Wasser, Weißwein, Obst und Nüssen. Carlos hat uns Ausflugsziele empfohlen und auf einer Karte die Orte erklärt. Gute Lage als Ausgangspunkt für verschiedene Wanderungen. Leider ist auf dem unmittelbaren Nachbargrundstück ein Hundezüchter wohnhaft, welcher zumindest 8 Hunde in Zwingern hält. Die Tiere bellen und jaulen morgens, mittags und abends und dies teilweise stundenlang und ohne Unterbrechung. Auf Grund unserer Beschwerde hat Carlos eine Anzeige bei der Polizei aufgegeben und das Rathaus eingeschaltet. Der Konflikt konnte aber während unseres Aufenthaltes nicht mehr gelöst werden. Der Konflikt sei bereits seit Jahren bekannt. Je nach Anzahl der Hunde kann die Situation besser oder schlechter sein. Wir konnten unseren Urlaub, daher nur sehr eingeschränkt genießen. Wir haben versucht uns so wenig wie möglich im Haus aufzuhalten. Ein Wechsel in ein anderes Haus war kurzfristig nicht möglich. Es tut mir für Carlos sehr leid, dass ich diese schöne Finca unter diesen Umständen, für Urlauber die Ruhe suchen, nicht empfehlen kann. Ein Hinweis in der Beschreibung wäre hilfreich, da der Konflikt wohl seit Jahren besteht. Wir bedanken uns trotzdem sehr für die Gastfreundschaft. Muchos saludos de Tim y Christina

A marvelous place to see

Our stay was delightful. The house is in the middle of avocados, oranges et lemons trees, the pool is big and surrounded by beautiful mountains. We went there at the end of April, and the foggy top of the mountains was very nice. The house is close to a kind of dogs house. At the beginning we wondered how would it be, and finally it was ok. The owner is very nice and cared a lot about our pleasure. Thanks again!

Blick auf Meer und Tal

Wir wurden freundlich empfangen, es gab ein paar Lebensmittel zur Begrüßung und die wunderbaren Zitrusfrüchte, die auf dem Gelände der Finca wachsen. Die Lage ist sehr gut um den Norden der Insel und den teide zu erkunden. Man braucht einen Mietwagen. Wir hatten genug Holz um abends ein Feuer im Kamin zu machen. Der Pool war zu unserer Jahreszeit kalt, liegt aber sehr schön und wurde jeden Morgen gepflegt. Es gibt keine Spülmaschine (kennen wir von zuhause) und das Design der Bäder ist etwas älter.

Peaceful, characterful home in a beautiful setting

We stayed at La Hondura for a week at the start of December 2019. The photos don’t really do it justice, especially the large living / dining space which is wonderful (part of the original 18th century farmhouse according to the owner). Although there are other properties nearby, the place is very private and peaceful, and set in a beautiful green valley below a dramatic mountain ridge. The property is on a small farm on which the family still grows citrus and avocado trees, and the garden around the house, terraces and pool is very nicely planted and well maintained. La Hondura is close to the coast but it’s a little way up the mountain so although nice a warm during the day the nights were quite cold at this time of year - there’s a large log fire and electric heaters but I would still recommend taking some warm clothes if staying here in winter. We also braved the pool, which is very nice and a good size but not heated so perhaps one for Spring/ Summer! All in all a lovely place and a very good experience with the owner - highly recommended.

Cozy home in the country

This house is situated on an orange and avocado farm overlooking Orotava and is minutes away from the city center, the TF5 auto piste and Puerto de la Cruz. The house provides literature about island attractions in English. The owner was an enthusiastic resource of information. He also took pains to help us report hit and run damage to our parked car and a car break-in (both of which happened away from the property). The route to the property can be steep, but I agree with the owner's statement that it can be reached with any two wheel drive car. Both the house and the property are very well secured and neighbors are near by.

Im großen und ganzen gut

wie schon oben zu erkennen waren wir mit der Betreuung sehr zufrieden und wie das Objekt im Internet beschrieben und angekündigt war so war es auch live also im Großen und Ganzen ein schöner gelungener Urlaub eine kleine negative Anmerkung wozu aber der Vermieter nichts für kann ist sowohl morgens mittags und abends regelmäßiges Hundegebell von mehreren Hunden aus der Nachbarschaft was leider etwas störend auf die schöne Umgebung hatte

A lovely holiday

We wanted a peaceful break away from crowds but close to a town with restaurants and shops. We got that. The finca was beautiful but hard to access. We swopped the hire car for a jeep as the roads up to La Florida were very steep and the track to the finca through the farm was rough There was a lovely pool and orchards and the Oratava area is lush and green. Walking in the mountains was fantastic. Not like south Tenerife at all. We found good sandy beach with much sunnier weather at La Teresitas near Santa Cruz. We had a great holiday.
