Luxury cottage for three people in the Peak District National Park

Mycock Cottage is a former cattle barn which today is a luxury cottage sleeping three people. Downstairs there’s open-plan living with underfloor heating and upstairs there’s two bedrooms – a double and single. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and there’s a private patio. It’s set in one of Derbyshire's most breath-taking valleys and is part of the Wheeldon Trees luxury retreat. Our guests are free to roam throughout our 12 acres of Peak District National Park, making friends with cows and sheep (or enjoying the local pub). If you love walking, you can bag a trig by climbing to the top of High Wheeldon directly from your cottage's front door. Guests have access to the entire retreat, including the children's play area and also have free use of our electric bikes to explore neighbouring villages. If you drive electric, you can make use of our onsite EV charging facility. If you need a midnight snack, our well-stocked honesty shop has chocolate treats, local artisan ice cream, pasta sauces and a list of other essentials. If you're working while with us, feel free to use our dedicated workspace - a luxurious office under the trees with the most amazing views. It's free to use and has super-fast wifi and a printer.

Fantastic Stay

We stayed at this lovely cottage for 2 nights, and had a great stay. The location is great with some wonderful scenery. Although we didn’t use it, having an honesty shop on site stocked with essentials is a really nice touch, as is having an electric car charger on site. The hosts were fantastic too. I would recommend this cottage, and hope to stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Cottage was clean and comfortable, in a beautiful location. Felt "away from it all" but also only a 5 min drive or so from the main Buxton to Ashbourne road so easy to get to places. Owners communication was excellent and the on site facilities were good. Highly recommended! Jerry

Perfection in every way

This is the nicest holiday rental we have ever stayed in! It was the small details that had been considered for guests' comfort meant for an easy, stress less stay. Communication was beyond excellent from start of booking, through to stay. Spotlessly clean accommodation in stunning location. Beautiful cottage in a dreamy location

The cottage was gorgeous as in the photos with lots of great little perks like an Amazon Alexa! Hazel was an incredible host too - there was a lovely welcome package waiting for us and we were able to check in early. She offered us everything we could need for our 10 month old baby too! Would highly recommend and definitely return!

Fabulous little cottage

We stayed for 5 days in Mycock Cottage in the Wheeldon Trees complex high in the beautiful Derbyshire hills. It's a superb base for exploring the wonders of the Peak District. The cottage is well equipped, welcoming and cosy and has all you need for a relaxing, stress-free stay. We would have no hesitation in returning here again and would strongly recommend others to do so. Thank you Hazel and Steve!

We gave up corporate life in 2021 for a more wholesome outdoors adventure. Steve was in housebuilding and Hazel owned a PR and advertising agency. We live just down the road in Ashbourne but are a phone call away if you need us.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

We’ve tried our best to ensure all you need to do is turn up. Our sheets are Egyptian cotton, our towels are fluffy and white. From olive oil in the kitchen to luxury toiletries hand-made locally for us, we have tried to think of everything. We love travelling ourselves, so all we have done is try to cover everything we would need. Add in historic chocolate-box cottages and stunning scenery – we think we have the perfect Peak District spot.
