About this space
The space
The Hay Loft, is a Grade II listed, 16th Century townhouse, titled with the most narrow frontage in Canterbury! We are just a stone's throw from the historic and vibrant city centre, and within 5 minutes walking distance of Canterbury West Rail Station.
Our house is ideal for anyone looking for a cozy and stylish place to stay with character and convenience.
You will have access to the entire house, which is set out on three levels. The entrance hall leads up to a modern kitchen, furnished with the usual modern amenities, as well as some larder basics. The living room includes a dining table, sofa and television. The second floor bedroom boasts a comfortable double bed.
The bathroom hosts a luxurious roll top bath (with shower) and a loo with a view! The second floor terrace is perfect for an alfresco breakfast or sunlit evening drinks.
Please note the property is being refurbished for summer 2021 and there may be some changes to the living area pictured.
Guest access
The Hay Loft, is accessed directly from St. Dunstans street. The entrance hall is occasionally shared by the owners, to access one other flat or collect the mail. All belongings can be left in this shared spare and is kept completely secure.
The entire home is for the sole use of our guests.
Parking Permits can be provided upon request for stays of 5 days and over at an additional charge.
Unfortunately we cannot offer roadside parking permits for shorter stays due to local parking restrictions. However, Roadside parking is free on Sundays.
Multiple carparks are available nearby.
We recommend Station Road West Multi-Storey carpark which is also closest.
Other things to note
Safety equipment items (fire blankets, extinguishers, first aid kit) are located prominently around the house and we ask that these are not misused or misplaced.
There is a low ceiling to the entrance staircase so please mind your head.
The Staircases within the property are quite narrow so are not suited to anybody suffering from mobility issues and may not be suitable for some children or elderly guests.
We ask that you please to treat our home with respect as if it were your own.
Pass the Keys® provides a hotel standard of service for short-let properties. Each property is professionally maintained and cleaned. We guarantee professionally cleaned linens and toiletries. We also provide 24/7 guest support and local personal service before and during your stay.
The local community-based team of Pass the Keys® personally inspects each home to certify they have met Pass the Keys®’s Property Readiness Standard.
IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys, we require guest verification facilitated by Truvi (Previously called Superhog). Upon confirming your booking, Truvi will contact the lead booker via a secure link, providing detailed instructions for the verification process.
The online verification requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. During this process, you may choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit (plus GBP 10 transaction fee currency equivalent) or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40 (currency equivalent) to cover potential damages during your stay.
Once the verification process is successfully completed, check-in information will be provided. If you opted in for a deposit, this will be refunded via credit/debit card after your stay, subject to an inspection of the property.
