To the north lies Skinningrove, a quiet beach with golden sands and a rich mining heritage preserved in the local museum. Saltburn, a surferâs paradise with a Victorian pier, offers a lively atmosphere and thrilling wave-riding action. Further south, youâll find the picturesque village of Staithes, renowned for its art galleries and annual festival, and Runswick Bayâa favourite for seaside relaxation. From there, follow the coast to Sandsend and Whitby, where historic cobblestone streets lead up 199 steps to the abbey overlooking the sea. Nature lovers will revel in the Cleveland Way, a coastal trail linking these stunning bays, or can explore the North York Moors, with scenic walks through heather-covered hills and woodland, or enjoy a steam train ride for a panoramic view.
