Great stay for family

The place had comfortable beds, and lots of kitchen utensils…there was lots of games and toys to entertain kids and it was comfortable. The shower heads need to be replaced upstairs (not spraying according to adjuster) but I was fine, felt like a massager. You can tell the family uses the cabin too, which made it feel more like a home than a rental. Blessed to have a nice place to stay, will definitely rent again for all our sugarbowl and northstar races.

Cabin is cozy but there are issues

Overall the cabin is cute and cozy. Great location, great property for playing in the snow with little kids. There are age related issues with the property, some of the wall paneling is coming off, some holes in the wall down by the floor, cold openings that let in cold drafts in the kitchen. But overall it's cozy and fun and if these were the only issues, we would stay again in a heartbeat. But the most disappointing issues were the overall maintenance of the property and one pretty disgusting and disturbing cleaning experience. Upon arrival driveway was covered with big patches of thick ice. Our cars could not safely park, they would slide. No shovel was left, no Ice Melt. We had to call to have a shovel delivered as well as Ice Melt and we spent half a day breaking apart thick ice just so we could park our cars in the driveway. And this was not shoveling fluffy snow, this was proper ice, 3-4 inches thick at some places. Also, there was trash left all over the outside of the cabin. Four empty jugs of Ice Melt just strewn about the front porch and walkway, three broken sleds (probably left by previous guests), and just pieces of litter. The blinds inside the cabin are stained and pretty gross. And, when we tried to use the vacuum it literally smelled like feces. The air that blew out of the vacuum was absolutely foul and smelled like there was poop left inside. Also, what very well may have been poop was on the floor after I turned the vacuum off. I didn't inspect it further because it was totally disgusted and I was afraid of what I would find. Luckily I brought Clorox wipes to clean up but it was so disgusting. I wouldn't recommend this property for that experience alone. Overall the cabin is cute but really needs some general repairs and upkeep. It's clear that the cleaners that work on the inside of the cabin do a good job but whoever is in charge of upkeep/trash on the outside of the house is doing a pretty poor job. The property management company needs to do a much, much better job. A couple additional little bits of advice... you will need to bring EVERYTHING needed for cooking food. Bring salt and pepper, oil, EVERYTHING. Some vacation rentals have some basics for guests to use, this property does not, they do have pots and pans but no basic cooking necessities. Also, bring your own drying racks for wet snow clothes. There are two available to use but both are broken.

Cute cabin but flawed cancellation request in weather emergencies

Could have slept way more than 6. Bigger than pics show. Very warm. Unfortunately we got a bad weather window and since my husband had to work on xmas eve we had to make sure that we didn't get snowed in. After talking to numerous people at ski resort and CHP they suggested we leave a day early to avoid the 99% sure road closure over the pass. So we were out nearly $450 for a night and they wouldn't work with us or credit us back ANY of the money at all. I'd think in that situation maybe offer a small credit back at least for future stay. I think we will only deal with AirBnb from now on as they have a 48 hour cancellation process. The house could use a dryer, snow clothes get wet and a dryer would help in that situation.

“Caveat emptor”

For the most part it served its purpose as we spent our week out and about. That said if you’re looking for a cabin that has things like a washer & dryer this is not the place ? If you’re looking for a place with a comfortable lovely bathroom after a day out on the slopes to relax and clean up this is NOT the place. The place room was the opposite of relaxing. If you’re looking for a place that has been dusted in the last year this NOT the place for you. I was rather disappointed yet again all said it was a place to lay our heads. Sadly it was a anniversary which well I guess we hoped for something we could share that made 20 years together a bit special.

Good location and overall cabin but did not get all the services listed

As we checked in, keys to the garage were not at the location mentioned by the property management. Had to call 3 times that evening and had a local rep show up who could not find the key as well, eventually I've been given the emergency key to use the garage. Cable TV, though mentioned as included, was not available and seemed to be locked with a PIN code. The local rep could not provide any solution either. They have promised a refund for that specific issue, that I did not get up until today (more than 2 weeks after). Will appreciate if someone contact me back. Other than that - the cabin was comfortable. Carpets are not so clean but "OK". Beds we comfortable and the kitchen was usable with all plates and utensils, etc.

Cabin is OK but some of the services listed were not available

Had an issue with a garage key/access not available. Had to call guest services a few times and wait for someone to show up who could not find the key, eventually I got the emergency key from them. Another issue was cable TV that was listed as a service but in reality, it was not available. Guest services could not activate it. I've been promised a refund for that which I never got (now over 2 weeks since I've stayed there). Still waiting for someone to get back to me on that.

Ugly, untidy please that needs a renovation

I cannot believe how dirty the carpet and couches were despite paying this much money for cleaning. The second floor was much better than the first. We were so worried, we were spreading our personal sheets everywhere we were sitting. You could see dust on the furniture and thankfully we had enough mattresses and spreads with us to lay out while sitting in the living room. I feel they should refund us the cleaning fee.

Great little home

This was perfect for us. We are locals and had our if town guests that our home was too small to accommodate. This was perfect!! The beds were very comfy and the home was super clean. Very old fashioned and quaint. Old school Truckee for sure. Give it a try!

This placed is an overpriced dump. Keep looking for better options! VRBO delist this property!

This place is an overpriced dump. The carpets were dirty and worn, the window shades broken, so interiors were dark and cavelike, kitchen wares were just assorted collection of leftover junk, no barbecue on deck. This place needs a complete overhaul. VRBO should delist this property until then, as it hurts your brand being associated with such D grade rentals for such high prices.

Nice location

Great location with lots of beds. Poorly stocked. We had to dry all towels when we arrived and purchase paper towels as there was a little stocked. Lots of dishes which is plus but no dishwasher. They provided a new sponge and Dawn which was nice. Beds comfortable except the loft beds. Nice games and nice to have Netflix. Bath mat was filthy. Bottom slider door does not lock. No instructions provided on wood. We had to call to find out info on wood and garbage.

Great location, cozy home

This property is wonderful, very close by to a bunch of different ski resorts. Also right up the road from all the best restaurants in downtown. Worked wonderfully for the Thanksgiving holiday!
