Wonderful Place!

This was the perfect place to stay while on our anniversary trip to Southport for the weekend. It is close enough to walk to most things, yet private enough to enjoy some quiet time. The bottle of wine and cheeseboard were also such a sweet and generous touch. We will most definitely be coming back!

Cottage Getaway

Birdsong Cottage is absolutely charming. Exceeding our expectations in everyway. The cottage is within the heart of downtown Southport, and all the shops and restaurants it has to offer. The host was very accommodating and made our stay even more relaxing. Highly recommend Birdsong Cottage to anyone looking to visit the Southport area.

Bird Song Cottage

We chose the cottage to celebrate our 50th anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It’s just right for relaxing or strolling around the neighborhood. Great restaurants are only three blocks away and the waterfront is a terrific place to spend an afternoon! Bring your bikes and take a tour of the historic city of Southport. Traffic is not a problem and you can cover the entire area in a couple of hours. Kelly is very accommodating and even let us check in a little early. We will be going back!

Amazing

This day was absolutely perfect. We were in town for the weekend, to visit friends, we rented a golf cart and made the most of it. The hostess was absolutely phenomenal pro providing everything that we need and then some beautiful. We’ll definitely be back.

Perfect location for single/couple

Very private and can walk to many (if not all) of Southport’s restaurants and shops. Spent anniversary with my wife. Cottage had all the amenities and hosts were excellent with communication and checkin. Looking forward to staying there again.

The owners were there to greet us and showed us where to park. Then lead us inside the sweetest cottage with a welcoming charcutery tray and wine. They told us details and were available

Adorable Weekend Getaway!

Had an absolute fantastic time here this weekend! Very clean, and the perfect space. I would recommend bring some bug stray if you plan to sit outside, but otherwise no complaints! Will definitely be coming back :)

Lovely cottage in the heart of Historic Southport

Birdsong was a really comfortable pleasant stay for 2 people. Short walk to shopping, dining, and outdoor entertainment. Kelly was great! Would definitely recommend and would love to stay there again!

Fun times in Southport

Kelly made our stay very enjoyable! The Birdsong Cottage was so cozy and homey! The welcome basket was such a special touch. She was helpful to recommend things we should do in the area.

We had the best time at the cottage!!! Kelly and Robert were great hosts! They have done a great job with the cottage! It was very clean and we really loved being close to town. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay at Birdsong cottage! Kelly was waiting for us when we arrived and showed us around. Such a cute, tucked away gem of a place!! Walking distance to all that Southport has to offer! Adorable Cottage

The cottage is adorable! The pictures are accurate. Perfect location. Park the car in your private space and walk to the restaurants and shops and swings watching dolphins. Kelly is great to work with. Southport is a gem.

LDW in Southport!

Had a great 2 night stay at Kelly’s cottage! We stayed in Southport for Labor Day weekend and would DEFINITELY book again! Walkable distance to downtown shops/restaurants, a 15-min drive to the beach, private entry and parking! Welcome basket was such a kind touch and we loved little unexpected touches like coffee being in the cabinet and beach towels being provided. This was the perfect little cottage and we’d love to visit again!

Quaint Comfortable Cottage

Bird Song Cottage is a real treat. It is centrally located, well appointed, clean, excellent secure Wi-Fi, and well furnished. I would highly recommend it and I would definitely go back to stay again. The hosts are very thoughtful and thorough with their information and preparation. Great find!

Kelly and Robert chose Southport, NC as their new home after living and working together in the charter yacht vacation industry in the US Virgin Islands for 20 plus years. Robert was born and raised in East Lansing, Michigan before moving to Denver, CO and eventually the US Virgin Islands. Kelly grew up in Bernardsville, NJ, then lived in Philadelphia for 10 years before making the USVI her home. The two were married (first marriages for both) in Southport in 2016.

Captain Robert holds a USCG 100 ton license and is Padi Dive Master. If you would like to go boating for a day...talk to Robert! He works currently as a relief captain on the Bald Head Island Ferry, so he can offer you recommendations about a BHI excursion as well.

Kelly is a Licensed Real Estate Broker with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage in Southport. She also runs a successful real estate investment company, buying and rehabbing historic properties around Southport. If you are interested in looking at any property while you are in the area, Kelly will be happy to show you around!
