Perfect mix of old style and modern

Our 2nd time staying here and it’s the perfect beach cottage. The exterior keeps the original OBX beach charm and inside is beautifully decorated with modern upgrades. The porch very comfortable and clean. Pictures are accurate.

75th Birthday to remember

This was our first time using VRBO and we were a little anxious about how it would work. The process is effortless, and the pictures do not give this property justice. Never have we had such easy access to the beach and the covered deck is a where we spent hours just watching the waves with complete privacy. The interior is beautiful featuring high end appliances and everything you would need. The location is truly the best you could ask for because you are an easy drive to Duck or Manteo and you can walk to Rundown Cafe and Duck Donuts! We can't wait to come back!

Perfect beach house

It was the most gorgeous home with beachfront perfection! Great view of eager surfers and quick back and forth to the house as you enjoy the ocean! Highly recommend!

Proximity to the beach is nice

The fact this place is so close to the beach is the best part. The furnishings, porch swing, kitchen, and appliances are nice as well. I am surprised not more people have said something about having to bring your own sheets, towels, and toilet paper. Bringing food, drinks, shower supplies, laundry detergent I understand, but having to supply everything else too!; a very foreign concept to me. In addition, saying you have to supply everything at the end of the description seems extremely intentional to me. If that was the first thing I read, odds are we would not have booked and I firmly believe more people would not book if that was placed at the beginning of the home description. Another annoyance, the supplied bed comforter in a couple of rooms were dirty and we switched until we found one that seemed clean. Over all the weekend was good.

Perfect getaway

What a gem, tucked away along highway 12. We slept with the windows open and we’re soothed by the ocean waves. With the wear and tear of beach houses, this home is was very clean and well maintained for its age. great for a small family or couples retreat.

Truly an Ocean Oasis

Property was just as advertised-- an Oceanfront Oasis !!! We really enjoyed being that close to the beach with the breezes and sounds of waves crashing in. House was just the right size (for 3 of us). We really enjoyed all the extra touches that owners Cindy and Dave provided with the rental (such as chessboard and pieces and great collection of wine glasses for our indulgences.)_ We hope to reurn in the not too distant future as this was one of our greatest getaways we have taken. Perfect getaway

We chose this property because of its proximity to the beach, the remodeling and refitting of the property, and the cost. We were incredibly satisfied with our choice, as it fit our family of 6’s needs perfectly. The walk to the beach was easier here than nearly every other property we viewed. The covered porch, furniture, and porch swings were idyllic. We never ate out at restaurants because the kitchen was robust enough to handle whatever we wanted to make and reheat, and I couldn’t find a better table in town than the picnic table on the deck overlooking the waves and the beach at the end of the day. The beds were very comfortable. The hosts were responsive and clear with directions for staying at the property. We would definitely stay there again.

OBXceptional!!!!

This property is just beautiful! Cindy and Dave have impeccable taste and have created a home that is gorgeous, inviting, and comfortable. Everything was immaculate and the house is furnished beautifully. The location is perfect— beach is right outside the back door— which makes it so easy to go in and out whenever you need. The back porch (especially the swing) was our favorite place to hang out and watch the sunrise/sunset. Great food was right down the street at Duck Donuts and High Cotton BBQ. This house is the place for a fabulous week at the beach!

Amazing location and beautiful home!

This house was absolutely perfect! Cindy was wonderful and communicated quickly each time I reached out prior to our stay. She was even able to let us easily extend our trip by a day when we weren’t ready to leave yet! The house was clean, well kept, and decorated beautifully. The porch was perfect and we loved relaxing on the swing and even got to see some dolphins in the morning! The beach access was the reason we chose the place - it was such a simple walk to get to and from the house to the water and there was even a private little sandy area with Adirondack’s set up for relaxing in the mornings and evenings. The beach was never crowded, and we could easily walk to duck donuts in the morning! The only thing we didn’t realize before booking was that there wasn’t a bathtub, which could be a little tough for someone with a little one, but it was entertaining teaching our 4 year old to take a shower and it went great! We highly, highly recommend this home and these hosts!! Thank you Cindy and Dave!

Summer Vacation

Great location - right on the beach, but be prepared to bring everything with you (TP, napkins, soap, salt, etc.). Owners provide bare bones and quality of what's available is in terrible condition (every pan is thoroughly scratched - unusable, no basic kitchen tools, etc). It was our first time in the area and owners didn't check in to see if we needed anything or offer up any recommendations, which was disappointing. If you don't plan to cook and just want to a beach front home in a convenient location, then this is the place for you.

October Getaway

Our first trip to the Outer Banks was made even more enjoyable by our stay at this house! I cannot say enough great things about the location, amenities, and overall experience here. Photos do not do this property justice! The casual, coastal decor and well stocked kitchen made us feel comfortable and right at home. Proximity to the beach was unmatched! Being able to walk out the back door and take only a few steps to the water was a huge perk and the deck area was a perfect place to enjoy the evenings. The location in northern Kitty Hawk was ideal for a few day excursions in Corrola/Duck area and Nags Head/Manteo. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful Vacation - Thank you Cindy & Dave

This was our first visit to OBX and it lived up to all expectations. After hours of driving it was a relief to hear our GPS that we were 5 minutes away from our to our destination. Just about a 5 minute drive once over the OBX bridge. We were VRBO first timers and a bit concerned as this was uncharted waters for us. However, we were very impressed with Cindy & Dave's home. And I use the word "home" as it felt like home. Extremely comfortable with all the comforts of home (appliances, kitchen utensils, candles and so much more.) The pics / photos are spot on. Decor very nicely done! BTW, the porch swing was a hit. Especially at the end of the day, swinging to the summer breeze. Another plus is the location, ocean front ! With 30 steps to the beach, it doesn't get better than this. My only recommendation would be to have handy a guide or instructions for the TVs. This would be very helpful as they all worked differently with numerous remotes. In addition, we could not get the one bedroom TV to work at all. Besides this one issue, our vacation was a five star our of five! Thank you so much and we will be rebooking in the future :) Bob

Can’t get any closer to the beach!

Our family had a great time staying in this property. We had one minor issue with the front door lock and owner promptly came and replaced it himself. He even let my 8 year old son help and patiently showed him how to do it. Would stay here again anytime!

Excellent location right on the beach

Our family had a great time relaxing at the house and visiting the beach that is right outside. The back patio was great to sit and watch the waves. The house was very clean. A minor issue was taken care of immedietely. We hope to be back soon!

Perfect Beach Getaway!

This house is a GEM! Right on the beach, beautifully renovated and furnished, perfect distance between Duck and Nags Head. This is a wonderful place for small families - we had 5 in our party. The kitchen is well equipped, the bedrooms are nicely decorated and comfortable, and it is air conditioned. Best of all, the view was stunning, and the beach was steps away. We enjoyed coffee on the porch in the morning and cocktails in the evening. Will definitely stay here again!
