This is a gorgeous home and property and much larger and luxurious than the photos indicate! We had a wonderful week stay here in early October and cannot say enough about the home and the very nice owners. We were astounded by the gorgeous view and you can hear the lapping of the lake from the living room, the screened in porch, the master bedroom, the "apartment" (more on that below) and of course, from the back yard. The backyard has various areas to lounge, including a lovely covered (with a roof) deck built right over the lake. The architecture is lovely, the interior design with lots of wood accents, and the art from Central America all around is fits perfectly. The owners provide everything you could hope for including a kitchen stocked with large and small appliances, including a blender, popcorn machine. And there are TWO kitchens. There is an additional apartment on the second floor that has a bedroom, bath, living room, and kitchen. The "master" bedroom is also on the second floor, but up a separate staircase and it is lovely, with lots and lots of space for your clothes, comfortable king sized bed and an incredible view. All the beds were comfortable, including the downstairs bedroom, which has a "blow up" sofa bed mattress. We were visiting our child at UVM, so he and a couple friends stayed over some nights. There was plenty of room with an extra large bed in an alcove the master (!) and 2 comfortable sofas. We rode the bikes provided around the island and we visited an apple orchard and a vineyard/winery, which were both close by. The washer and dryer are both large. There are bikes, yoga mats, board games. Burlington is an easy drive about 20 or 25 minutes away. If you want to explore the Adirondacks across the lake, the ferry is minutes away. This is a perfect place to relax. meditate, write, do art and/or make big dinners (or bring in food from Burlington) and celebrate with family/friends. Renting this home is not inexpensive, but it is well worth the price and is the same price as renting a couple rooms at a hotel in Burlington (at least during the time period when we visited). The owners came by the first day to give us some information and show us how to use tv and internet. They live about an hour away, but also have a second home down the street from this home. We hope to return soon!
