We have just come back from a lovely 2 weeks here. The owners were so helpful and kind, the house is just perfect and well looked after and the pool is wonderful.
It is hard to find the first time, so it was kind of the owners to meet us and show the way when we arrived. The track to the house is pretty rough - quite steep and bumpy gravel, so a sturdy car is recommended.
They showed us around and we were really impressed. The photos - especially of the inside do not do the house justice. What is really nice is that all the basics are there, you don't have to buy things like loo roll, washing up liquid, olive oil etc. The owners also provided a welcome basket of delicious fruit and veg, some water and even a bottle of Prosseco.
The views are gorgeous and we spent many an evening just watching the sun set over the hills after an evening swim. The house stays very cool, but we were there during a heatwave, so the owners kindly supplied fans for the bedrooms at night - nothing is too much trouble. There are 2 lovely verandahs for enjoying a meal with a view and plenty of shady places to sit. A couple of pads for the sunbeds would have been nice, but this is a very small thing. There are a lot of insects, which were annoying but to be expected - the owners made sure there were plenty of sprays and repellents.
The area is spectacular, and less touristy than neighbouring Tuscany. The local village perched on top of the hill has a lovely restaurant with an amazing view, which is well worth a visit, we had a couple of lovely evenings there. There is a small shop in the back room where we stocked up on the first night, which was so useful.
There are so many amazing trips to make, the lake is worth a visit and Montone, Perugia, Arezzo and Citta Di Castello are all lovely and not too far.
All in all a fantastic holiday, a very comfortable and spacious house in a beautiful place where everything has been thought of. Highly recommended.
