We had a great time. This is a wonderful location next to the park. This is our 3rd time staying in the complex. There is a gate in the back to access the park. Turtles are always visiting there. If you like the out doors and wildlife; we have seen wild pigs, mongoose, geckos, lizards, all kinds of birds, and the most wonderful frogs that sing to you at night. The views from the balcony is amazing. It was nice to have items left in the refrigerator and shelves. The kitchen is well stocked. I recommend that you check the supplies before going grocery shopping. Even without air conditioning, there is a great breeze coming through the doors and windows. I prefer not using air. The bed was very comfortable. The local people are very friendly. Parking is easy.

Really awesome location right next to the beach. The kids loved the balcony overlooking the water. Communication was great. It doesn't have the newest furniture and could be slightly cleaner but for the price, location, and communication, it was a great time.

Cleanliness was great, we completely understood and appreciated the tiny quirks that come with condo living directly on the ocean. The views from the lanai and master bedroom are both incredible it was nice to see the expansive visual the condo lanai positioning offered including the ocean side over to the opposite side of the street creating a beautiful watch point for the park, ocean and entire area we spent most our time out on the nicely covered patio just enjoying the sites and sounds loving it!Our host Damir was great always responding to anything we needed quickly and professionally. The pool water was clean and refreshing, we took a dip but spent most our time in the park, snorkeling, sunning, our absolute favorite were the local area turtles these are some of our best pictures and memories, we viewed them regularly.

Building itself looks pretty old/ beat up. Target shopping carts are their luggage carts. No lobby or really any common area. Location is awesome!! The lagoon and grassy area makes it all worth it. Unit is just okay. Windows/frames rattle with the wind. Shoved qtips in them to “fix” it. Balcony any could use updating. Beds small and noisy.

The apartment was really nice with high-end finishes. There were an assortment of condiments and cooking oils and things left by previous guests and that was helpful. The lack of in-unit laundry and AC was a little disappointing, but he did warn us. The description really was accurate. The views were absolutely amazing, and we saw a huge double rainbow. We weren't able to actually swim in the ocean lagoons cuz we didn't bring proper water shoes, and it was way too deep for my 6-year-old. We did see a sea turtle though! We had really looked forward to the jogging trails through the jungle, and did not find them until our way out on the very last day. They are on the opposite side of the building from the beach, and they look like they would be lovely. The host was very responsive, he had the apartment available early and responded quickly when I had concerns. We really only had two issues. First, we got stuck in the elevator. It was only about 10 minutes, but it felt like an eternity with two hungry children. Luckily, the elevator emergency button call does work. The absolute worst thing though, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is the road noise. I know the host cannot control it at all, but if I had any idea how loud it was, I would not have chosen that spot. So many cars with their stereos at full volume, so many people in the park with stereos at full volume. I couldn't hear the ocean or the rainforest for the people. Beautiful for sure, but not peaceful.

Great Views and excellent communication

I stayed 6 nights in the penthouse. Such incredible views, the lanai & pool were my fave places to enjoy on property. Swimming with turtles at Carlsmith & Richardson were highlights. The condo was well equipped with extras, such as shampoo, sunscreen, condiments & spices. I never lacked for anything. The communication with Damir was excellent and he was incredibly responsive to my texts. For the price, this stay is beyond expectations! If renters plan to explore this side of the island, Hamakua Coast, Botantical gadens, waterfalls, Kilauea and the Aloha spirit, an excellent rental.

Epic Views Conveniently Located & Peaceful

The condo has the most amazing view of the Carlsmith beach park beautiful trees and lagoon as well as Manta Kea in the background. There is also a beautiful fresh water pond across the street. There is a gate you will have a key to that goes to the lagoon, where we saw about 5 large sea turtles per day. Bring water shoes. The pool was warm and always empty. The inside of the condo isn’t air conditioned but there were many fans and there were great windows for a good breeze. If you can turn the fans off at night you can hear waves and crickets. It’s like a real sound machine. The upstairs is roped off for o net storage but plenty of room

Amazing views of the ocean and Mauna Kea from the bedroom and balcony, and the proximity to the water was perfect! The place was clean, comfortable, and well stocked with essentials It's also a great location for home base while exploring the Hilo area and the host was very friendly and responsive to messages. Great location, inside not as expected

The location of this property is absolutely perfect. The distance to the beach was incredible. However, I would not go as far as saying it could sleep 6. The futon and couch were covered with a sheet and the fabric under them were disgusting, as well as the futon itself is broken and won’t even pull out into a bed. While the kitchen and flooring and bedrooms were updated the size looked much larger in the photos. While we there in the summer, the house itself was extremely hot and only has one fan. Kitchen was stocked with plenty of cooking items for everything you might need. If it weren’t for the great location I would have reviewed this property for lower stars, especially for the price.

Great Location

This condo is located, in my opinion, one of the best locations in Hilo for a family. The lagoon in front is a great place for the family to swim and play, plus the local turtles are fun to watch. The only issue was there wasn't really the room for 6 persons like advertised. We purchased a cheap air mattress from Walmart and made it work. The property manager, Mindy, was great and attentive to any issues. I appreciated her assistance. The location can't be beat.

ALOHA! I am a Maui-based professional and philanthropist, having recently relocated with my young family from Hilo. We enjoy the outdoors, yoga, and parenting. Our neighbor Mindy lives just down the hall from the unit and handles the day to day aspects of the unit. We are an open book, so drop us a line - we would love to hear from you!

Varför värden valde detta boende

I had previously lived in this building almost continuously from 2010 to 2018. If you love the beach as much as I do, the location is unbeatable, especially given its proximity to downtown Hilo.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

I fell head over heels in love with this corner penthouse unit as soon as I saw the views, and vaulted ceilings!
