Even though we were a little surprised by the mountain road to get to the cottage, it was a great spot. We really liked the closeness to Manitou Incline and the cottage had all of the amenities we needed for our stay. Easy access to the Springs, but at the same time you felt like you were in a remote spot. We had a wonderful stay.

Perfect Manitou cabin

Great location to downtown Manitou Springs. Clean cabin that has everything you need. Great host! Scenic views and great privacy while only minutes from all the attractions.

Great place

This is the second time here and the accommodations didn’t disappoint. We love being up in the mountains and checking out all the trails. The cottage had everything that we needed and more. We would definitely stay here again.

Walton's Cottage is conveniently located to downtown Manitou Springs. We chose to drive up and down the mountain to get to this cottage, but walking or biking is totally feasible. It would be a moderate to difficult trek for most people, I assume. It is located a quiet area, and allows scenic and peaceful views of nature. The private access to a hot tub was so key to our personal weekend. Hot tub was clean and well maintained. Although we didn't cook here, the kitchen appeared to have all the basic needs for cooking. Basic toiletries, towels (shower and hot tub), linens, and coffee were all provided. Communication with the host was easy and seamless. I left something behind and the host was quick to communicate with me via VRBO about my belongings. I really appreciate the care they took to get my item back to me! We can't wait to stay here next time we come to Manitou.

A great escape from the bustle of cities, clean, every thing you would need to have a relaxing time. hot tub was very soothing. Great views would recommend that you stay at the little cottage at the almost top of the mountain

Gem of a spot

Great area if you don’t want to stay close to others…even though you aren’t very far from a ton of activities (Incline, trails, shopping…etc). This was my second time at this house and my family really enjoyed it.

Great getaway in Manitou Springs!!!

This is a wonderful place to stay that is cozy & quaint just up the hill from Manitou Springs downtown! The cottage had everything we needed & the communication with the owner & her family was exceptional! Loved having the hot tub just beside the cottage, which was an added bonus, as well as being able to park right outside the front door! Manitou Springs is a cute little town this is located on some very steep roads and some of them are narrow but we didn’t ever have any problems with running into another car coming to or from the cottage because it’s located on private property & a private driveway. I would definitely use Serpentine Drive to get to the cottage though if you want to avoid downtown traffic. My family consists of my husband & I and 2 teenage children and we all loved it! Would definitely stay there again & would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area but without the hustle & bustle of downtown! (The picture is looking down at Manitou Springs at night from the cottage road!)

Walton's Wonderful Place to Stay!

We truly enjoyed our time on Walton's Mountain. The Cottage had everything we needed for our stay. The relaxing hot tub was a hit after hiking the trails, ziplining and taking in the beautiful views. It is just minutes away from downtown Manitou Springs for shopping, dining and entertainment. We also enjoyed the Cave Dwellings, Cave of the Winds and the Garden of the Gods. John, thank you for your quick responses and providing all the necessities!

Peaceful Relaxation

My husband, son, and I spent a week at the cottage and enjoyed our getaway. It’s cozy and well-appointed, and the views and fresh air are outstanding. The cottage is higher up in the mountains than I thought, but it was beautiful up there and very quiet. It’s close to attractions but away from the noise and crowds. It’s a great place to stay in the Manitou/Colorado Springs area.

Great cabin

The cottage was very clean with great views. Very roomy layout. Loved grilling on the patio and watching the sunset. Walkable to downtown Manitou but steep coming back so we took an uber. The zip line was a short drive away and we got 30% off for staying at the cabin. The cottage was a great value and we really enjoyed our stay.

The property was perfect. Lots of places to take walks in nature. Hot tub was clean and enjoyable. Bathroom is large with lots of fluffy towels. Doesn't have central air, but the unit they have cools the whole house quickly. Kitchen is well stocked, and the grill was an updated model.

Cottage rented in addition to The Cabin

We rented The Cottage in addition to renting The Cabin due to the size of our family and at the suggestion of the owner and let me tell you, it was the best decision made! Great to have the extra space and the ability to spread out. This gave us 2 hot tubs to use and extra kitchen space for meal prep, not to mention a nice little place to escape some of the noise and commotion from the 11 kids :) All in all we couldn’t have asked for better.

Great, for a couple's getaway

We really liked this little cottage. It says it sleeps 4, but only has 1 small bathroom, that's attached to one of the bedrooms, so I can't imagine being there with anybody else. Even with our kids, it would've been a little weird. Great location. VERY QUIET AND PRIVATE! The bigger, lodge, house sits 30 feet from the cottage, and there was a bunch of people staying there (5 or 6 vehicles) and we never heard them. If it's like it wasn't for their cars, I wouldn't even have known they were there. I'd highly recommend this cottage for a weekend getaway, for a couple, and MAYBE a small child.

Cute Cottage Away From the Business

This was a quiet, little cottage away from the business and traffic of the downtown shopping area. My only concern was the house past us a little further down had a not so friendly brown/black dog that would come running up to you and growl. With having a 16 month old who was loving having a big open place to play and run, (I have two dogs at home and she loves “puppy”), I was a little nervous this dog would come do something. Other than that, beautiful little get away with my dad and daughter! John, thank you for being so kind and informative prior to our arrival!

Could be an excellent experience

Location and information on how to find stay was excellent. We were excited when we approached the home but then...front door sliding screen fell off. It has not been maintain for some time. Then we discovered a safety wood fence rotted away and lying on the patio next to a very steep slope. We felt that we could not even use the patio area since it was not clean or safe. Also, the TV remotes do not match the instruction book and it was almost impossible to use the two remotes to find any reception. We were disappointed with much of our experience because of these issues. However, loved Manitou Springs and the surrounding area. Mary and Tom Pageler

Our family has enjoyed Waltons Mountain Lodge and Cottage for many years. The owner and his family live in Arizona. His three daughters “grew up” on the mountain when they were younger, living at the Lodge for 3-4 weeks during the summer and most Christmases. Although we are all grown with families of our own now, we all continue to visit the mountain and stay at the Lodge for a few weeks each summer so our children can experience the same joys we did on the mountain. When you send questions, inquiries and booking messages in the VRBO app, you are communicating with Caitlin who currently lives in Arizona with her husband and two children.

Our property provides a unique experience to those looking to visit the area due to its location. This gives our guests plenty of privacy while also being located just minutes away from downtown Manitou Springs. Both our Lodge and Cottage provide a feeling of being fairly secluded in the mountains of Manitou Springs allowing for our guests to spend their days down in the city, and when that becomes too much, they have the option to retreat back up the hill to the privacy and quiet of the foothills.
