Location Location Location

Perfect location. Right on the beach with easy access to the water. Stunning sunrise and sunsets. Well appointed house with everything you need. In need of some routine maintenance but we would stay here again!

Highly recommend

Property was exactly as stated. Right on beach, no public parking area in front of house so very family and kid friendly. Clean, very updated bathrooms, bedrooms, etc. nicely appointed kitchen. shaded balcony on main level. simple short path to beach, great views, great time. Highly recommend staying here. Also much closer to Galveston for restaurants and grocery store access than some of the other west end of island neighborhoods.

Great Beach Access

This is a lovely house directly on the beach. I was able to book both this house and the house immediately next door at the same time in order to accommodate my wife and I, our six adult children, their significant others and our 6 grandkids. We had a great time. The only issue we had (and it was minor) was that when we cooked we had the oven and cooktop going at the same time and the A/C system had trouble keeping up with all the kitchen heat. It should be noted that it was in the high 90s the whole time we were there, and the house cooled back down after the cooking was done.

Great Location

The home location is great! It's close enough to the seawall to be able to make a quick run to town. We loved that it was a private beach and not as crowded on our side. The pictures on the listing showed there was a bar area downstairs as well, but we did not have access to this area. The house was not cleaned very well. There was sand everywhere. It was still on the floors as well as the couches being full of sand. There was also food still under the kitchen table.

Great Potential - Gross Reality

We booked this house for the proximity to Galveston as we’ve always stayed at Pointe West and wanted to try more in town restaurants and activities this year. We liked the fact that it is beachfront, a mere 10 steps to the sand, but what was so aggravating was the constant noise/car traffic from the public beach access that sleeping was an issue. The house had such great potential - 5 bed/5 bath with an upstairs game room - we could fit all 12 of our family comfortably but in booking this home we knew we would have a bunk room and then that each room would have a queen bed (which is odd)… but the rooms didn’t have tables or lamps and all of the available closets (most were locked) were so jammed full of random things that you had lo leave all suitcases on the floor. Which needless to say, was not clean. In fact, I let the owner know upon check in that the home had not been cleaned and texted photos of gross food on the walls, mold in the shower, etc. The owner sent the cleaning lady over who yelled at my mother in law, left the rag and cleaning product and told my MIL to clean it, and then told us we needed to pay for more towels (they left 2 per bath - 1 body and 1 hand towel… 12 total towels for 12 people, except 1/2 of the towels were hand towels!). I let the owner know and they proceeded to argue that it was clean and I was looking at chipped paint… it was disgusting and towels aren’t included. Beware!!!

Had Potential

To start, the Owner/manager didn’t know if golf carts were allowed, which means they were not very familiar with the property. The house had an unpleasant odor when entering the property. The furnishings have seen their better day. The kitchen ware was disorganized and a majority of it was in the pantry which made it difficult to unload groceries. The appliances were very nice. The closets were filled with future projects and dirty, used pillows. The cleaning supplies and toiletries were lacking and didn’t seem to be original Al products. There was one dish towel for the kitchen. The cable did not work and there was only one television remote for the 2 TVs. The access to the beach was nice, but did require some maneuvering through the dunes. The location on the “private beach” is accurate, except it is located one house from a public access point that is drivable. And so if you expect a quiet day at the beach on a summer weekend, forget about it. There is a grill as described, but it would be nice to know it was a charcoal grill so that we could have brought charcoal. Most of these things could be overlooked, but when preparing the house to leave, we stripped the bedding (normal process for short term rentals), and to my disbelief the mattresses were disgusting. There were unimaginable stains on the mattresses and the pillows. I hate providing negative reviews, but honesty is a must when it comes to health.

Beautiful beachfront home

Excellent home! Plenty of bed and bath space for 3-4 families. Easy to locate. Great for early beach walks and day sunning right on the beach. Very clean and modern. Only negative was location beside public beach entrance and parking. Was one house away and the street entrance traffic was extremely active. Police cleared daily at 6 so was very congested if was trying to return to house at that time in the evening. Street utility maintenance with jackhammers on Friday blocked the street and entrance to the house all day so our arrival parking was in the public beach parking and had to walk to house. It was clear over the weekend but they returned on Monday morning the day we left and barely got out before the street was blocked again. Overall was a great 4 day weekend and would definitely do again. More kitchen towels and dish soap were needed. Only one kitchen towel supplied. No hot mats, dishcloths were located. Had to resort to using bath hand towels for kitchen use. But again, not a deal breaker. The hand vacuum cleaner was useless. Need a full size vacuum accessible.

Love this house

This is the second time we have stayed at this property and we love it. The house is in a perfection location with plenty of space for our entire family. Our trips to Galveston have become a yearly tradition and I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Great place and location!

Family trip for 4 nights. The location was great. Great view and steps away from the beach. Having 5 bedrooms and 5 baths was perfect. The house was well stocked. We had a few issues that were quickly resolved by contacting the owner. A suggestion for future guests would to bring more towels. And a good grill if cooking out. All in all, it was a great place and I would rent it again.

Good Location

The location and access to the beach was the best part of our stay. The property manager was very responsive and helpful-was very patient with all our questions. There were plenty of towels in the house. But there are a few things that I would change: there wasn't enough silverware/plates for our group. Luckily we had brought paper and plastic. There were no baby gates on the inside stairs so with an almost 2 year old it was a problem. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathrooms. Only ours had hotel size but wasn't enough for the length of our stay. I tried to sweep the floor, but there was a broom with no dustpan. The outside charcoal grill was pretty rickety. We were afraid it wouldn't hold the weight of the charcoal. The cleanliness was ok, but not spotless. There was a bag of dirty towels left on the living room floor and dirt hanging off the ceiling fans. Even with these complaints, overall it was a good stay and a nice house. Probably other than what I mentioned the only thing we'd ask for would be a pool.
