Amazing place to stay!

We loved the entire experience! The bathroom was just perfect for a relaxing night in, then traveling the property the next day and walking around every part, and just minutes from downtown Clayton! I would recommend this place to anyone!

The Joy house is the perfect name for this cottage in the woods. We had a great time and we will plan our next trip to Clayton around the availability of this wonderful little cottage.

Lovely, relaxing retreat

This was our second stay at the Joy house. We just love it here. Such a unique property. Perfect setup for a family of four. Our pup had a blast running around too! Can’t wait for our next visit!

Magical

I had to book last min at this beautiful home. I had a family emergency with an uncle that lives in the area. The house is GORGEOUS! The property is stunning! If you want to get away and relax in high luxury, then this is your place! Everything was perfect! ENJOY!

70th Birthday Girls' Trip

We had a wonderful stay at the Joy House for my mom's 70th birthday! The house and property exceeded our expectations. We loved relaxing by the fireplace! It was about a 20 minute drive to Downtown Clayton, but the drive through the mountain is beautiful. The host was responsive about any questions and we had everything we needed. I appreciated the easy check out process, so we didn't have to spend our last hours doing much cleaning, as I have other places. I can't wait to come back with my family!

Snowy weekend

Joy House lived up to its name when snow fell closing down many Clayton businesses. We grabbed take out n stoked a fire in the stunning rock fireplace n snuggled down for a night in. The house is well furnished w multiple games n Netflix and Apple TV as well as all the comforts of home. Lovely experience .... including FOUR inches of snow !!

Persimmon paradise

This is a beautiful house on an amazing property. It used to be a vineyard , the meadows and stream with incredible views still exist , just no vines. Only issue was the kitchen as we like to cook. Limited prep space and drawer only fridge/ freezer was too small.

Beautiful, luxurious cabin!

We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. A beautiful, high end cabin with HUGE bathrooms, comfy beds, and a wonderful outdoor fireplace with covered veranda. I’m only giving it 4 stars because there is a refrigerator “drawer” and not an actual refrigerator, making it difficult to store both food and water/beverages. They also didn’t have cable/satellite tv making it frustrating to watch live sports, and we had to check out at 11am. Hoping for a leisurely morning, we needed to pack up and leave early, making our last day rather rushed. But, the setting of the home, the decor and surrounding area really is beautiful and we enjoyed the nearby town of Clayton very much!

Our goal is to have our guests have a five star stay, which is why we clearly state and have pictures on our listing of all the appliances, fireplaces, bedrooms, kitchen, check in and out policies so there won’t be any disappointments or surprises. After receiving this review it was quite a shock in view of our personal correspondence with this guest, because we graciously refunded the $100.00 pet fee as a courtesy to any inconvenience that the TV situation might have caused. We are currently addressing the issue of only having “internet TV”. In regards to checking in and out policy, per the guest request, we allowed them to check in early but had people coming in on their check out date and can’t always accommodate.

Joy Is the Perfect Name

The Joy House is a beautiful and cozy VRBO across the lane from the Hope House on Victory Ranch. The sign in the kitchen reads, "Faith and worry can't live in the same heart. One has to go." The entire experience at Joy House was like a message from the universe to leave all our cares behind. We relaxed the moment we entered the gates. As for the details... the space is beautifully appointed. We're extremely picky about beds and bedding. The bed in the master bedroom was like sleeping on a cloud. The bathrooms were spacious, sparkling, and gorgeous. We bought wood in town and kept a fire going in the stone fireplace all the time. We enjoyed the gardens and the grounds. The kitchen is small but had everything we needed, and we expected that from the descriptions, reviews, and photographs. We highly recommend this VRBO. It's perfect for couples or a small family. Choose JOY!

Charming Cottage

We booked the Joy House during spring break for a short mountain getaway with our teenage daughter. The cottage was very comfortable and well thought out. The attention to details was much appreciated. The property was absolutely beautiful and very private. We enjoyed long walks in the morning and sitting on the porch taking in the beautiful mountain scenery. Our hosts were very welcoming and kind. They communicated with us to ensure we had a safe and enjoyable stay. We really appreciated that! We enjoyed exploring Clayton and the surrounding towns. The property is centrally located to the area and we would definitely book again in the future.
