View is everything.

We loved this cabin. The drive up and down the mountain is pretty steep and bumpy takes about 12 ish minutes up and down.considering it’s a dog friendly cabin, they clean very well and love they provide the sheets to cover any furniture. My only complaints were small things they need to do for maintenance like the blind sticks missing, the recliner is on its last leg and there’s most likely mold in bathroom downstairs that should be addressed. Our family thoroughly enjoyed this cabin!!

We had a wonderful time! The cabin is adorable! We relaxed on the porch swing, spent time in the hot tub and did some antiquing in town. One of the most important things to us is that the cabin was very clean! We will definitely be back!

March 2018 Stay

We loved our time at Nativa! Beautiful views, peaceful surroundings, comfortable beds, and a hot tub! Got lots of great pics, wish I could share more than one! The drive to the cabin wasn't easy with our car and directions were somewhat confusing, but once we found it, we loved it.

The view is probably the most beautiful we have had, and we have stayed at several other Sliding Rock cabins. The road up to the cabin is a little rough, but the directions were excellent and even though it rained the entire time, we had no problems getting to and from the cabin. My only suggestion would be a little more light inside the cabin would be helpful. It was almost impossible to read in the evening. The upstairs bed was very comfortable, and overall it was an excellent experience. Don’t hesitate to visit Nativa!

If you know the road to the cabin is bad and you’re prepared to either endure it or bring enough food for your entire stay, you will enjoy this cabin. If you are expecting a large fenced area for your dogs you will be disappointed. Also, don’t expect to take walks on the road. Way to steep. Great place for quiet and seclusion.

Fall Getaway

When we arrived after dark, they had the lights, heat, and music on, which was a nice welcome rather than walking into a dark, cold, place we'd never been before. It was a bit remote, took awhile to get to from town, but we didn't mind that too much. 4WD would make these roads easier, but we did it with a front wheel drive. Everything was clean, the cabin was well-equipped, and the view was spectacular. Customer service at Sliding Rock Cabins was a pleasure to deal with, they always got back to me quickly when I had questions. Great experience! Thanks!

The recliner was a lifesaver for me as I’m a lung transplant who has trouble sleeping in a bed. The view was marvelous and we could see the torrential rain we had for two days, lol. Very dog friendly place. The road to the cabin can only be described as “verrrrrry interesting “. We felt sorry for the folks who knocked on the door at 10:30 at night who were lost trying to find their place. Our GPS did work all the way up. We loved it and would definitely rent again if we are in the area again.

Million dollar view!

Fireplace chimney, hot tub made for some lovely evenings. While you don't need a 4x4 to get up the road to the cabin, it sure come in handy! Constructive criticism: move the yard firepit up into the parking lot. Provide more firewood. Non skid mats on the steep loft stairs please. The upstairs balcony screen door needs replaced. Comes off every time it's opened. Would stay here again.

Delightful, but a challenge to get to

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a spacious cabin with expansive views of the mountains. We have stayed at Sliding Rock properties before and always enjoyed them. This cabin is nestled high up on a ridge, which is both its charm and its downside. Be aware that it is a very difficult drive on steep, twisty dirt roads before you reach your destination. A jeep or 4WD is recommended, and don't attempt it at night unless you know your way. We had planned to do some day outings, but chose to stay put for our 3-day visit. Fortunately we had all the provisions we needed. That being said, it was a very relaxing, peaceful place for reading, nature-watching, lounging in the hot tub, and cooking on the grill.

Awesome View, Private, Quiet

A great view that, unfortunately, is becoming partially blocked by tree and vegetation growth and could use some attention. Facing in a southerly direction, it is protected from direct sun on the lower porch (In late June), a plus. The cabin was clean, the linens were of good quality. It was apparent that the owner could refresh the odd selection of glassware and china. The cabin is served by what is probably DSL internet access. If you need cable speed, this one does not deliver that. Lastly, walking required one to be in adeqate physical shape due to the topography. As always, Sliding Rock Cabins was awesome - responsive to communications, polite and professional in every way.

Very Relaxing

Reviewer Comments: The cabin had everything I was looking for - a hot tub, mountain view, firepit out back, indoor plumbing, and availability for an entire month. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances, kitchen tools, etc. The only thing I would recommend is a pizza cutter (a knife just doesn't work the same) and a knife sharpener, since all of the knives were very dull. It was awesome how they set you up with some TP, paper towels, cleaning stuff, coffee, firewood, and they are not stingy with it like some rental places can be, it makes the first night and morning much better. We had a few problems, normal house maintenance stuff, but they were taken care of very quickly, so no complaints. This cabin is called luxurious in the description, I would say it is more rustic than luxurious, but it did meet our needs. This is a dog friendly rental, but we don't have a dog, we just wanted a place for a month and this was the first available. There were absolutely no pet odors, for anyone looking to stay without a pet, I was initially worried there might be an odor, but it was perfect, no smells at all. Now about the road to the cabin, it is a mountain road, 2 wheel drives drive it all day, but there is one section where when it was raining, I had to make several attempts to get up the very steep, gravel and dirt road, especially if it was raining. This part of the road is after the HOA stops their road maintenance, I don't know who is responsible for maintenance, but in my opinion, it could have used some work. Regarding GPS, we followed the written directions initially, and then used the WAZE app, which gave perfect driving instructions to the cabin itself. No other map apps worked. Reception is not great, so I would also make sure to have the written directions in the car in case you lose service.
