Riverside fun close to town

Fun river stay

The trees kept it cool on hot summer days. The separate fenced in yard was perfect when we didn’t want the dog wet! Lots of nice hikes in area. Dining chairs and beds could’ve been a little more comfy. Cabin was well stocked for cooking.

Family Time

My fur babies ( a German Shepherd, a Siberian Husky, and a St. Bernard) loved running along the deck. I would have liked more comfortable seating, and later check out time.

Great last minute trip!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved everything about this cabin and the fire pit by the river was great! So relaxing! I have little fur babies so fencing on the boardwalk would have been better for us. But that and the neighbors being so close were the only negatives from the whole trip. We had a great time.We will definitely book with Sliding Rock Cabins the next time we go to North Georgia.

Perfect for our human and fur family!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Riverside Retreat was perfect for our family and our dogs. It has a small fenced in yard for our dogs to go potty and lots of deck space and runways for them to run and play without getting their feet dirty! The deck goes all the way out over the water, so it’s a very pretty and relaxing environment. The only thing I didn’t give 5 stars for was the furniture. My husband has back issues and it would have been more comfortable for him if it had recliners.

RELAX TO THE MAX

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our time at Riverside Retreat! It's a beautiful cabin that is well-maintained and has everything you might need for a relaxing stay on the river in the mountains. Couple things to note- the outdoor area wasn't swept or blown off so there was a lot of debris on the deck and in the screened-in patio (also lots of dog hair there). And I think the property could be improved by adding the dog-friendly wire fencing around the entire deck so that they can roam freely in that area as well as their designated 'fenced' area. Otherwise, it's PERFECT! Beds are super comfy. Kitchen is well-stocked. Bathrooms were very clean. The sound of the river is MAGICAL! We didn't catch ANY fish though. Maybe next time!

Sister getaway

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was cute but could use a deep cleaning and fresh furniture and bedding. The queen bed squeaked so badly it was not usable. The whole cabin could hear your roll over. Many window coverings were broken and we could not close them. The deadbolt on the door was keyed so we couldn’t use it at night. All anyone had to do was break the window by the door handle and turn the knob to break in at night. There was no window cover on the window of the door at all. Two ladies alone we didn’t feel safe at night. This has been our least favorite cabin thus far from Sliding Rock.

Quiet River Escape

Check in was easy having a lock box with the key and a code text prior to arrival. Kitchen was fully stocked for us to cook or grill there with ease. I much appreciate the deck which made getting waterside with a wheelchair very easy. It’s quiet, with easy access into the Ellijay river from the back yard. The cabin, although small, was well furnished and comfortable. Lots of wild life. All enjoyed the stay even our two pups.

Wonderful River Retreat!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 3rd year in a row I have rented with Sliding Rock cabins. Each year, we have tried a new spot, but I think this will be a place to return to!! The cabin is big enough (4 adults, 3 dogs) to not be on top of each other, while also being cozy. The outside space is impressive! The boardwalk to the patio over the water is very well maintained and safe (unless you have a blind dog who tried to fall off the walkway!). Riverside Retreat had all the amenities needed, the grill was super convenient to the kitchen (though the grill grates could stand a replacement). Well stocked kitchen. Do note that the upstairs king "master" is not private- it is in a loft space. Only minor issue to us was that there was only 1 single 2 person hard wood bench in the covered porch. Fortunately, we traveled with some camp chairs, so we set that up on the enclosed deck to hang out outside during the rain. Relaxing, wonderful long weekend! Thanks!

2024 LABOR DAY WEEKEND IN THE MOUNTAINS

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an excellent time at the Riverside Retreat!The cabin was beautiful inside and our whole family enjoyed the outside! Our grandson caught his first fish and the dogs loved walking onthe deck and going down to the dog park.We drove into Ellijay on Friday and Blue Ridge on Sunday. We rode the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. On our way back in on Sunday, the deer were so beautiful to see. We hope to return at some point!

Dog Friendly Cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin is located on a cobble road with a handful of other rentals from the Sliding Rock company. The drive up to the cabin we all considered a ‘nightmare’ as the road is narrow, windy and definitely not smooth. We changed all our plans from the get go so we only needed to leave in the morning and once we got back to the cabin, we stayed there. The pros are that you may come across several deer and bunnies on the drive to and from the cabin. Don’t expect to play in the creek behind, it’s too steep and slippery to get down. There is a quaint little fenced off area for dogs but we didn’t use it and instead chose to walk the dogs up and down the cobble road. There are bears in the area, so make sure your dogs are leashed and let out during daylight hours!! The cabin itself was wonderful. They provided enough for the first few days. There are plenty of board games in the cupboard too, luckily the weather was great during our stay so we didn’t have any days indoors that left us time to play them. The hot tub was appreciated on the days we took arduous hikes. The water pressure and heat in the bathrooms were fantastic. We did see an army of sugar ants on the kitchen counter but I think that’s pretty standard for all cabins in the woods ?!?! The rest of the cabin was clean and comfortable and we had a wonderful vacation.

Awesome !

Went there for a 4 day weekend trip and it was amazing! The view was breathtaking! We relaxed, grilled, went hiking and ended our day floating down the river! Highly recommend booking this cabin!!!

Incredible! Love the cabin, location, and scenery!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: What a trip! The cabin was perfect for the three of us and our pit bull. We absolutely loved drinking coffee each morning on the deck overlooking the creek. We saw deer every day of our stay! So awesome! We also enjoyed cooking out and lighting fires in the pit by the creek. We couldn't ask for a better experience. As for the cabin itself, it was hard to leave. Of course, we ventured out to see falls, go to downtown Blue Ridge and Ellijay, and to a few other quaint towns. Still, we couldn't wait to get back to our cabin by the creek. It was clean, well stocked for a few days, and very open. Thank you for the wonderful stay! We look forward to returning.
