Great stay in a great place

We had a wonderful stay in the house which is in a very quiet place. House is comfortable, very well equipped and the master bedroom is awesome with large windows, you have the feeling to be in the trees. Outdoor is very nice too to appreciate the evenings. It’s only 20’ from Lassen Volcanic NP which is a great place to visit for several days: hiking Lassen peak with a top view, swimming in summit lake, visiting the small but well done museum, take good time at manzanita lake, etc… we stayed only 2 days and more would be welcome. Definitely a great experience to stay here.

Great location for everything.

We really enjoyed our stay. Clean and everything we needed. Tv and wi-fi were great. Loved the fenced backyard, fire pit and little area down by the creek. Great fishing at McCumber lake. Would recommend to everyone. Will come back again.

Love the location

Love the location, close to lassen, Burney falls, hat creek and more. House was well stocked with essentials and a lot of room to to enjoy. Maybe needs a little TLC in some areas but I would definitely stay there again and plan on it.

Creek Retreat

Nice comfy cabin with spacious bedrooms. Everything you need was in the cabin from dishes, utensils, bedding, towels, etc. Peaceful morning and evening; all you could hear was the creek and birds. Recommend highly if looking for a cabin retreat.

Nice stay close to Lassen!

The house was nice and big and only 10-15 minutes from Lassen Volcanic NP. The property is cool with a river running in the back, and it’s very peaceful! Only thing I would ask for is updated pots and pans because they were all non-stick that wasn’t nonstick anymore so cooking was kind of a pain! But other than that, no complaints with this property!

Beautiful comfortable place on the river

Really enjoyed our weekend at this cozy home on Battle Creek. Our dogs loved the large enclosed yard, our kids loved playing in the creek and the fishing was amazing in the area. Very well appointed home with all amenities one needs and the fire pit outside was perfect for smores at night. Hope to stay again soon!

Beautiful accommodations in quiet setting

This is a lovely home that can accommodate multiple guests. Plenty of room to spread out. Has every amenity. Well-stocked kitchen. There was difficulty reaching the owner to check in. We never received an access code until 45 minutes prior to check in time. It is in a remote area with limited services nearby, which made the situation even more difficult and stressful.

Aptly named--A very peaceful retreat!

We had a very restful stay at Battle Creek Retreat and loved both the house and its environs. We made frequent trips down to the edge of the creek to breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the sights and sounds of the water. Proximity to Lassen Park is a big plus and we went there to hike, swim, kayak, and/or picnic each day. Kathy & Peggy made us feel entirely welcome and we look forward to returning!

great spot for kids

This is a great spot for families exploring Lassen. It's located in between Shingletown and Lassen Volcanic park. Easy drive to both. It is well stocked with toys and games, though we also packed some from home. and my son loved the easy creek access and star gazing. We will definently be returning to Lassen and this rental.

Great place to stay

The house is very comfortable. The owner is very careful, we find a lot of supply in the house, almost everything we need for living there. And the owner is very kind, and always ready to offer the help! My wife said it's the best cabin we ever stay. Thanks so much! We will come back if we can find opportunities to visit Lassen again!

Wonderful Experience!

My husband, daughter, two dogs, and I had a wonderful visit. In all reality it was far too short, but we made the most of our time soaking up Burney Falls, Mt. Lassen, and the excellent cabin. While we enjoyed some meals in the well-equipped kitchen, we also traveled into Shingletown to Pioneer pizza and enjoy every slice of their food as well. Everything you could possibly need is located within the walls of the beautiful cabin and just outside lies an oasis. Not only can you hear Battle Creek running, but you can see it and walk down to it. These hosts are truly top notch and care about their guests. We will certainly be back!

Wonderful house in the woods

Battle Creek Retreat was so welcoming from the minute you step inside. The owners have made many special amenities to make your stay special. Everything is comfortable including the beds, well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. The property itself is lovely and inviting for a walk. We used this home as a place to stay while visiting Lassen National Park which worked out great. We hope to come back and stay longer next time. Many thanks for renting this house.

Comfortable, spacious and a short drive to Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Our family traveled from Chicago to visit the national parks in Northern California and southern Oregon. We stayed at this rental when we visited Lassen Volcanic National Park. The house was spacious with a cozy cabin feel. The owner really kept the place tidy. We were welcomed with s'mores on arrival - definitely a nice touch! We love the surrounding rich forest community and easy access to the park. Would definitely recommend this house to any family visiting Lassen NP!

The beauty of the mountains can be found in the many lakes, streams, and forests. The elevation is about 4000 feet, so in a typical year, there is snow in the winter time, allowing for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and sledding. In the summer time, the main draw is Lassen Volcanic National Park. There are several points of interest within an hour's drive of Battle Creek Retreat. The springtime is beautiful with the redbud and dogwood in bloom. The fall is equally as beautiful with the many leaves of brilliant color. Our property provides activities within a short walk. Battle Creek runs along one border of our property. In fact our property goes to the middle of the creek. Kids and dogs alike love to play in the creek. Lake McCumber is within walking distance. There are several logging trails where guests can walk their dogs, although no motorized vehicles are allowed. On the back patio there is a gazebo, firepit, a picnic table, and a lot of seating. It is enclosed to give it a feel of complete privacy, although a lack of privacy is certainly not an issue at Battle Creek Retreat.
