UTK Graduation Destination

Beautiful home, secluded property! It’s a little bit of a drive getting in and out, but home was perfect for our long graduation weekend. Only thing to change would be to make cushions available for the chairs around the deck fire pit and lower deck table. Otherwise, it’s a dream house with something for everyone.

Great property but terrible help service

The property was amazing. Great views and in the most part amenities. What let the overall experience down was the help we didn’t get from Vacasa. There were no cushions for the outside chairs which made using them. As there were 8 people in our group that meant the 7 chairs that were usable, as they didn’t need cushions had to be moved up and down stairs to suit what we were doing at certain times. Despite contacting Vacasa help four times nobody helped. They first told us some would be delivered, annd the were not. We were then told they were in the house we just “hadn’t looked properly”! They weren’t there. We were then told someone would contact us twice which they did not either time. The help line should be called the ‘unhelpful line’! Also the concrete seats near the fire pit were useless as they sloped so badly you could not sit on them for longer than 5 minutes. It would be very simply to level these up and make them more useable. All in all the property is really good but I would never book through Vacasa again as their care and attention is terrible. If I owned this property I would find a better agent.

Wonderful Repeat Booking at this Cabin

This was the second summer we have rented this cabin and we absolutely love it! The cabin itself, great activity room on the ground floor, location in a quiet cove, fantastic dock and boat ramp and customer service are exactly what my extended family needs (my wife, two kids and their families including 4 grandkids). I'm certain we will stay here in the future:-)

The cabin has lots of room , everything we needed during the 5 day visit . We really had fun on the lake , fishing and swimming ! Very enjoyable !

Beautiful place to come and visit.

The house was just as we expected. Very clean and comfortable. The lake was gorgeous and the water was cool and refreshing. A perfect place for your family to come and make wonderful memories.

Great place but tricky drive to get there

This house is amazing and water is 10 yards from the back of the home. Very well appointed home with plwenty of pillows and blankets. All the cooking utensils we needed and grill was easy to use. Nice dock for our boat. Highly recommend this place if you don't need to make too many trips away from the house during your stay.

Awesome

The home was very clean and great amenities from the downstairs pool table, arcade games and basketball game. Outside had a great deck with gas grill and fireplace. There was also a wood burning fire pit by the dock. Several life vest and floats for swimming in the lake. The home was in a quiet cove, we enjoyed our time and highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing lake location!

great house in great location

We had another great stay on Douglas Lake. This is a nice cabin property that's directly on the water in the prettiest part of the lake. We enjoyed using the dock and the fire pit by the water. Everything in the house was clean and in good shape. Our family looks forward to returning.

Family Fun

We loved everything; the lake was perfect. the house was big and cozy, with a basement game room for everyone to enjoy. Life jackets and floats were on site. however, we brought our own along with paddle boards. the only thing lacking was enough TP for 10 people and the wifi kept going out, but once we found the router we refreshed it every morning. We left TP for the next family. ;)

Disappointed

The cabin itself if nice. It was very clean upon arrival. The kitchen is fully stocked with items to cook. It’s spacious and has entertainment for rainy days. A huge reason this cabin was booked was for the lake/view. It was heartbreaking to arrive to a very low/dry lake. It was very challenging to even get near the lake as the way down is very very steep. I would say this location is not kid or elderly adult friendly. The host was not very responsive to inquiries. We made the most of our trip but i would not book here again.

Wonderful place pain in the back to get too

We loved the house access to the lake etc but to get to the house it’s a pain in the backside. Bring your bait and tackle cuz none of the marinas sells it the do have fuel and ice but none have an actual store. Fishing is mediocre at best you will need live bait minnows or chads, boat rentals is offered at the local marinas but they are very pricey. Now that we know what to expect we will definitely be back.

Ok stay. Paper thin walls, 4 bedrooms to share 1 full bathroom upstairs

1 full bathroom for 4 bedrooms up stairs, 1 full bathroom downstairs in game room, 1 full bathroom on main floor for master bedroom and another 1/2 bathroom on main floor. Walls paper thin. Master bed needs updating. Should let people know in advance how low water level is starting in Oct.

House and view were courteous on this property but the cleanliness was not so much. Lot of dust balls under the beds and the main floor bathroom smelled like urine so much that we had to move the rug on front of a toilet outside and it was very disgusting with stinky stains.

Amazing lake house

Great spaces inside and out. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds. Beautiful views. Very quiet, peaceful setting. Wifi was in and out, but property managers and even owner were very helpful. However, being on the internet was not our priority as much as having a wonderful time as a family, which we did! One thing to note - If you are considering bringing a boat, especially a large one, be aware that it is a very steep and potentially dangerous approach to the boat launch area, which can only be done by backing quite a distance down a narrow driveway with several curves. We would definitely stay here again, however, we would launch our boat at a different location on the lake.

Summer Vacation

The property was excellent! Only two negative flaws. The communication between property manager was difficult. When I tried calling, I was on hold for hours and hours. Therefore I sent messages via the VRBO app. It took at least two business days to reply to them. Also, we would’ve appreciated to know when the cleaning crew was finished so that we could arrive and unload our belongings quicker. Overall, the cabin is great for a large group and was a great vacation that we will remember forever!

Navy reunion

The house is absolutely beautiful!! As a true log home, sounds can be heard throughout. We did have access to the beautiful lake, but as adults over 65 it was quite a climb. The slope is much greater than it appears in pictures. They only left 4 rolls of TP for 10 adults for 6days and left a minimal amount of dishwasher tablets as well. We have been renting thru VRBO for some time and usually have great experiences. The wifi was out more than in. It seems someone had been working on the septic, but had not completed the job. It would run over behind the house and into the lake, bad smell. I would also like to deal with a local host/dealer. I hope they work these things out. We loved the location and the home. Thanks for sharing. Possibly hired a better crew to over the home locally.

Great house......

The house is beautiful. The location is certainly remote. Had thanksgiving here, 2019, with 8 adults and 3 kids. Plenty of room and space for everyone. There was no water pressure in the bathroom upstairs, kitchen sink, or main floor bathroom. This was “fixed” by the plumber who showed up after 4pm on our last day. (I understand it is the holiday weekend) The property manager was responsive. However, we were with only 1 shower for 11 people and trying to cook thanksgiving dinner. The lake was extremely low. So low the floating dock was on the ground and the water was 20ft away from it. We thought drought but after doing some research this is something they do every year. Would have been nice to know. I’m glad we didn’t bring our kayaks.

Overall nice.

The property itself is beautiful as is the house. We did have a problem with getting some things fixed. The biggest issue was the missing blind in the master bedroom. This was a problem. We called numerous times about it and was told it would be taken care of but it wasn't. I don't think for this kind of rental money we should have had to hand a sheet over the window, Very disappointing. We also asked for light bulbs and had no luck. The house needs extra tlc like the bulbs, toilet paper holder rolls replaced and the cob webs cleaned out of the corners. With all that being said my family still enjoyed themselves and the space worked out perfectly.

Overall Great

We loved our stay at this cabin overall. I gave a 4 rating for the items mentioned in the next paragraph, but overall it was a great place and a great location. I'd consider buying it if it was for sale. Great location on a nice quiet cove but close to the main lake. House was even better than the photos. We were only given 2 kitchen garbage bags for 4 nights/5 days with 10 adults, 2 rolls of toilet paper for most bathrooms, no rolls of toilet paper at all for the powder room. The kitchen overall had most things you could need or something close enough to make do, but it only had 9 forks and 9 spoons. There were some laundry detergent pods, but no dryer sheets or fabric softener. The grass was not mowed when we arrived and it had been long enough that it was going to seed. We had a Monday check out and someone arrived to cut the grass on Sunday while we were still there and trying to vacation. He did ask if he should leave and come back another time, but we didn't feel comfortable deciding that. Given the nightly rate, owners fee and the rental company fees, the amount of supplies that were left in the home was shameful. Do better on that please. The master bathroom shower seems to be maybe a shower that is meant for a camper? Very small. Other showers were fine. But the basement has a skee ball game, arcade games, etc. that aren't shown in the photos. Overall we had a wonderful stay. Water was great. There were beach towels, life jackets and some inflatables.
