Great location
The location of this home, right across the street from a public access to the beach, was absolutely perfect. I loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves every night, and Rockaway is so peaceful in general. We had other family staying at the Tradewinds Motel across the street so this location was ideal.
The double living room situation was perfect for my family, and everyone had their own bedrooms, which was nice when we needed a break from one another. Those who wanted to watch TV had a space and those who didnât also had space. The outside areas could be improved and I hope the owner will be able to do so in the future. The house itself is quaint and vintage with a rustic cabin-like feel. If youâre after a palatial resort, this is not the space for you. Others have mentioned the uncomfortable beds, and I concur. The mattress I slept on made my hips hurt. Also, the electrical outlets in the bedrooms were only two prong and the whole house could really use a thorough deep cleaning. Carpets and couches are stained and a fresh paint job would help inside.
That said, the place felt very comfortable and homey. Rustic, but charming. We would definitely stay here again.
