Great spot on the guadalupe!The house was clean, comfortable, and offered plenty of parking. The true highlight, though, is its unbeatable location on the river. This is the last set of stairs along this stretch, and with no neighbors directly across, sitting in lawn chairs in the river feels peaceful, private, and surrounded by natural beauty. Just upstream, there’s a fun tube chute that kids can ride down again and again, landing right in front of the house. Downstream, you’ll find deeper water that’s perfect for kayaking—or you can carry your kayak upriver above the chute for even more deep-water access. We also made the quick drive to the horseshoe for a tubing trip. A shorter float (about 1.5–2 hours) ends at the bottom of the horseshoe, while the full float (4–5 hours) takes you all the way back to the house. Tip: research parking options in advance. We recommend avoiding mo market—while the sign says 15, they tack on extra fees and the staff is extremely rude, making it a frustrating experience. There is free parking along FM306, just follow parking signs. Also, the house is only a short drive to canyon lake, where you can hike trails (check out the Canyon Lake Dam trail) or rent boats and jet skis for a day on the water.

Love the trout house!

This was my family‘s fifth stay at the Trout house and it did not disappoint. We had a blast on the river, dinner on the porch while watching the deer runabout. Beds are comfortable and AC worked great! Not too fancy, just right for a River stay.

Ok visit

The only thing I like about this house is the area it is located. Very close to New Braunfels and right on the river. The river access is not as easy or appealing to spend time in, just so you know. This WAS my annnual family vacation spot for three years, but not anymore. All three mattresses are uncomfortable to sleep on and the pull out sofa bed dipped so far backwards that you were laying practically upside down. We will be looking elsewhere next year.

Love this place as it's easy to get to and has great water access. Always good to stay at a house that is clean and functional for vacation.

Trout house is great!

Perfect place to hang with family on the River. Access is easy and the kids had a blast in the rapids. Coffee and cocktails on the back porch with a beautiful view. Deer came for a visit every evening as well as fire flies and stars for miles! Could use a few upgrades: new oven, a few more utensils more overall a 10!

Perfect placement on the river

On the river!

River is just down the hill from the back deck. House is very comfortable, clean, & roomy. There’s a pull-out couch in the room off the kitchen that we didn’t use, but it was nice to have the option. We loved it & plan to book again next year!

River time

Great place . Clean and cozy. Kids had a great time. Never left the water for the whole 5 days. Had a temperamental toaster 😂. Had to keep my eye on the toster so it wouldn't burn the toast. Water front needed to be cleaned up. Pulled a bunch of branches out of the step area to get our kayaks in. Other than that we saw deer, turkeys, ducks , fireflies, and beautiful cranes. Great time!

Awesome atmosphere

The house is a great atmosphere for family or friends! Went to the Rio Raft to go tubing and canyon lake is only 12 minutes away. I enjoyed the area and the house was super clean and spacious. Super convenient for the river to be in the backyard. Also a great fishing spot!

Relaxing weekend

This property was “as advertised”… on the river (shallow rapids). The best part was, this was probably the cleanest short term rental we’ve ever stayed at. It made for a very relaxing long weekend.

Perfect place on the river

I love this house, our second time staying. Location is great, right on the river and in a quiet neighborhood. House is very clean and well set up, even has its own pancake griddle you can plug in. Fun electronic log you can plug in the fireplace, no heat but looks cool. Very comfortable master bed. Great customer service from Vacasa. Fishing was outstanding! If you know what to do, you can knock ‘em dead right on your doorstep. We caught 42 big rainbow trout up to 23 inches long. If you’ve never had wild caught trout, I highly recommend eating one.

Fun on the Rapids

Property was just as pictured. The rapids were right off the steps leading down into the river. Just a few feet away is the dam where the kids enjoyed snorkeling! Our entire family enjoyed this trip immensely! You might need to take note that they only offer a standard coffee maker - not for kcups. This was the one thing we didn't prepare for. We will definitely stay there again!!

House on the guadalupe

The house is spacious, very clean. Perfectly situated on the river. Can fish or play in river from backyard. Canyon lake and tubing rentals are less than 10 mins away. New braunfels and gruene 20 min drive. Very noce and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend

River fun!

Our 3rd stay at the trout house was great. The river right at our back yard was perfect. The pictures accurately depict the house. It could use a bit of updating but it was just what we needed. We will be back next year!

Great place on the river

We loved our stay at the trout river house! Very well maintained, spacious house. Everything worked well there except for the low flow shower head in the master bath. That thing is a crime against humanity. But otherwise the house was great, excellent river access. We absolutely smashed the trout, catching 26 up to 22 inches long. Great back yard and the boys loved chasing lightning bugs. I highly recommend and we will be back. Please change the shower head before next time!

Peaceful Yet So Fun

This house and property surpassed our expectations. It was such a nice peaceful place to have our family vacation. We loved sitting on the back porch in the mornings drinking our coffee, watching the deer, and listening to the sounds of the river. During the day the river was definitely a nice refreshing place to put lawn chairs and hang out. We couldn’t have asked for a better place (neighborhood) to get together and enjoy family time while enjoying the river!
