Ski to Sea är ett vackert familjehus vid en höjd av 4.500 meter på Appalachian Ski Mountain i Blowing Rock. Huvudnivån består av ett bekvämt vardagsrum med en ny 50-tums smart TV med kabel (2017) och DVD, öppen spis med gasloggar och ny soffa med läderstol och 2 nya läderstolar med ottomaner (juli 2016). Matsalen har stora fönster för att se bergen, det har ett stort bord med plats för 6, ett litet bord med plats för 2 - 3 och en bar med 4 avföring. Köket är fullt utrustat med diskmaskin, mikrovågsugn, kaffebryggare, brödrost, 2 krukor, brödrost, förvaring, matberedare, sida vid sida kylskåp med ismaskin och vatten- och isautomater, glasögon, bortskaffande, nya köksartiklar, 2 uppsättningar porslin och bestick. Befälhavaren svit har en ny king size-säng (2017), kabel 40-tums TV, privat badrum med stor glasskärmad dusch och dörrar till det stora omslaget däck med det vackra, täckta badtunnan med utsikt över de omgivande bergen och skidbacken Nedan. Huvudnivån har också ett mindre 2: a sovrum med king size-säng, kabel-TV (Smart TV) och badrum (dusch / badkar). På övervåningen är ett kung sovrum med bildfönster för att se bergen och utsikt över lekplatsen på gården. Den har en king size-säng, kabel smart TV, gungstol och Pack and Play. Det andra sovrummet på övervåningen har 2 dubbelsängar som också har en smart TV. Det finns ett komplett badrum med duschkabin på övervåningen. Alla madrasser och lådfjädrar är omslutna i certifierade sängskyddsklädsel för din säkerhet. Gården är stor och relativt platt med en lekplats för barn och bänkar att sitta och titta på utsikten. Vi har en eldgrop på bakgården för att rosta varmkorv och marshmallows. Det finns asfalterad parkering som rymmer upp till 5 + fordon. Bekvämt beläget mellan Boone och Blowing Rock och nära attraktionerna i High Country ... det är ett perfekt bergsstuga ---- redo för dig att njuta av vila, koppla av och spendera tid med familj och vänner.

Beautiful vacation home

We have stayed here a couple of times and it is beautiful and comfortable. Has plenty of room with a great living / dining area and kitchen. Large master BR and the view is so pretty. We really enjoyed our visit. Working with the owner was great and we had no issues with anything.perfect stay!!! Highly recommended.

Mountain Stay

Our family stayed at the property for a quick getaway. Property is in a great location, was clean and easy to work with the owners. Gorgeous views and close to Boone and Blowing rock.

Family Reunion III

This was the third year in a row that we stayed at this fabulous venue. We have become so familiar with the property that our grandkids consider it their "Mountain House". This year was a bit different because our oldest grandaughter was getting married. While it kept the entire family busy it was another added event to our busy family reunion weekend (Tweetsie, Tubing on the New River, Pancake Breakfast, Hot Tubbing). The location and size of this venue is perfect for us. Each family has their own bedroom/bathroom...a great arrangement for downtime. We hope to return for many years in the future.

The house was perfect for our family needs. Everyone had their own space and were able to do as they pleased. Some enjoyed the outdoor area while others enjoyed the indoor space, but could see outdoors through the large windows. All the amenities were there. View was awesome. We used the hot tub and the grill. We saw deer, turkey, chipmunks, and humming birds and one person in our family interrupted a bear raiding our garbage. It was perfect! Temperature was lovely( we're from Florida)! We were pleasantly surprised that we got to see the rhododendrons blooming around the house. They were beautiful! We would love to go back again.

Another Great Stay

We used to book all sorts of different places for our annual trip but since we found this house several years ago it has become our go to place. Perfect combo of great views, kid and pet friendly, and close to both Boone and Blowing Rock.

Fantastic Mountain Getaway!

We had a wonderful time! We watched the sun rise each morning and heard Tweetsie's whistle at night. There was a family of deer and two foxes that came by. Loved it.

Perfect Location

Great house and perfect location. We were there for a tour of App State and was only 10 minutes away. Also super close to Appalachian Ski Mountain.

Returning stay

This was the second time our family stayed for vacation, and we were excited to go back since the first time was during Covid. We love the location, and the views! If you love trains, you can hear Tweetsie RR whistle throughout the day. The inside is clean, and the bedrooms are well accommodating. Like some other reviews the outside could use some updating. I was disappointed that the deck chairs were dirty and unable to use them. There is a problem with the AC not working properly. The owner notified us several days before our arrival that there had been a problem reported. She offered a full refund, but it was too last minute for us to make other plans. She did have it checked while we were there. Downstairs wasn't too bad because the temps outside were great, but upstairs was warm.The house is a great location, and the Walmart in Boone does delivery!!!We had a great time anyways and worked it out!!!!

While vacationing in Blowing Rock, my parents fell in love with the area and decided to begin looking for a home there. They found this home, but it needed a good bit of work. The mountain view was so wonderful though, they decided to purchase the home and begin renovations. They added an extra bedroom and full bath, put on the deck, bought a hot tub and added gas logs. They started on their landscaping projects soon thereafter and have continually added things to make the home more comfortable, while maintain its home-like feel. It was a second home for them and they decided to share it with guests who also enjoy a clean, comfortable home where they can relax and feel at home themselves, at an affordable cost.

Since that time, my parents have passed away, leaving the home in the care of our family. My husband and I take care of their home and enjoy working with the families who have come for many years, as well as welcoming the new guests who are visiting for the first time. Our home is child and dog friendly.

Many families come each year, making memories and spending time with their own families as they continue the tradition. Appalachian Ski Mt is in our neighborhood--just down the mountain from our back yard and we are a 5-minute drive from Tweetsie. Our home is located midway between Boone and Blowing Rock, so it convenient for Appalachian State University and all of the fun places in a nice college town as well as convenient for the unique restaurants and the scenic town of Blowing Rock.

My husband and I live in Greensboro, NC--a two-hour drive from our mountain home. Fortunately, we have excellent assistance with our incredible housekeeping team and handyman team and snow-clearing staff in the winter. We love having return guests and appreciate their suggestions on things they'd like us to add to our home for their next visit. Suggestions are encouraged and welcomed! We love our home and want you to love it as well.

We love our neighborhood because it is very beautiful with trees and flowers and has gorgeous mountain views.
While you are here, you feel that you have really escaped from the noise and traffic, and busyness of life, yet you are 5 to 10 minutes away from all of the conveniences of modern life. There is a little neighborhood "library" with a bench that is a lovely place to sit and read or just commune with nature.

Note: It is a 10-minute drive from Boone or Blowing Rock to our home. As you enter the neighborhood you will see the streets (about 1 mile's distance) are more narrow and somewhat curvy as you ascend the mountain. Two cars can pass if driving slowly. During wintery weather (snow and ice) the streets are scraped twice each day, but driving can be challenging. You may wish to consider 4-wheel drive based on your driving experience and comfort level. Our driveway is cleared during inclement weather.
