We are sorry to hear that aspects of your stay fell short of your expectations. We appreciate the feedback as we strive to improve the Sol de Mar experience for each and every guest. Our normal process is to correspond with guests before and during each stay to ensure they know we are available 24/7 to answer any questions that arise, and to remind them of items in the VRBO rental agreement (which is accepted at the time of booking). The VRBO rental agreement discusses the A/C settings and checkout items; these and other topics from the rental agreement are also included in the house manual (on the kitchen counter when you arrive). We regret that the checkout email came as a surprise. It was intended as a reminder as we understand that time can get tight on the departure morning, especially with children, catching flights, etc. We are also sorry that you were not able to set the A/C below 74 degrees. Early in your stay we suggested a quick phone call to help you lower the thermostat, but you declined and said all was ok. We want our guests to be comfortable, but also want the A/C units to keep running for all our guests all summer long, especially with the extreme and record-setting heat conditions we had this past summer. After your departure, the house cleaning team reported that the house was clearly in need of a deep clean instead of a standard clean. Since you disagreed with the additional cost charged by the cleaning team, we waived the charge. Thank you for visiting our property.
