Moldy and dark

This property is small, dark and heavily moldy. Three of our party had allergic/asthmatic reactions to the property within an hour of being there. The rental company denied that there was mold, but those of us with sensitives know it when we run into it. They did allow us to cancel our booking, which was gracious. But having to find another place to stay late at night wasn’t ideal. We definitely don’t recommend.

Nice little place close to the Yellowstone entrance. Quiet at night so easy to get good sleep. Enjoy the night stars during your stay. The place itself is a little older but still was comfortable.

Family vacation at Yellowstone NP

This was the perfect property in the perfect location for our visit to Yellowstone. A short drive to West Yellowstone and the West entrance to the park means almost all our driving time was inside the park. The West entrance seems best since it’s more centrally located to most of the sights in the park. The house was furnished and equipped very well for our family of 4.

Great Spot

Great little spot in a quaint and safe little neighborhood. Home had everything we needed and was neat and tidy. Beds were comfortable and the location was great for getting in and out of downtown West Yellowstone and the park. Host was accommodating and let us check in an hour early when our zip line tour up towards BZN had been cancelled. Would definitely recommend

We highly recommend Sandhill West. It is clean, comfortable and quiet. Not for from Yellowstone National Park. The host is friendly and easy to contact. Thank you for a great stay!

Cozy stay

Comfortable stay. Quiet & scenic location. Close to park entrance, but a nice distance away from the busy-ness of it. Clean. Spacious. Code to place was wrong, but called property & they quickly responded when we needed to check in. Plenty of towels & blankets.

Great place to stay!!

We loved the convenience to town, without the crowds! The wild life in the neighborhood was awesome!! We had a herd of buffalo nearby, and one buffalo in the front yard!! The house was tidy and comfortable!! I would stay there again!

Great little spot

We got this place to act as our home base for our trip to Yellowstone and it was great. Affordable and convenient to West Yellowstone. The whole situation was perfect. Out of the way but convenient. It made coming back mid day for breaks quick and easy.

Breakfast with bison!

My husband and I stayed here with another couple. The property is easy to get to and close to the town of West Yellowstone. The kitchen is well-outfitted and we had a great time cooking at home. One morning the bison even joined us for our breakfast, red dogs included! The shower is strong and the bedrooms were cozy. All around, a wonderful stay near the West Entrance of Yellowstone! In town, we highly recommend Mountain Mama's, Slippery Otter Pub, and the Grizzly Wolf Center.

Perfect Adventure Location

House was as described and very clean. It has everything needed for your stay including a cooler and bear spray. The one negative is the internet connection and direct tv signal. It was hard to plan each day’s activities because the internet barely worked.

Review of home

Overall very clean and met our needs. It is very warm there in July, a fan or some time of air conditioning would be nice. It was very nice to have access to bear spray and a cooler! Mosquitos are not very forgiving! Thanks for the nice stay in a quit neighborhood. We saw a Bison walking beside the road one day!

Awesome Stay

This is an ideal location for a visit to Yellowstone. The house is a very pretty 15 minute drive to the West Yellowstone entrance, but far enough away from the hordes of tourists in town. Look for elk, rabbits and fox as you drive in and out of the neighborhood and in the backyard. The unit is larger than it appears in the online photos, but otherwise accurate. There are basic cooking utensils, including a crockpot. We cooked breakfast every morning, but had to wash utensils between meals so there would be enough, which was OK since there is a dishwasher. There was plenty of seating and bedding for the five of us, though the sofabed (like most sofabeds) is meant for young backs and not super comfortable for us middle-aged folks. The two queen beds were adequate. The neighborhood is amazingly quiet and the stars are beautiful at night. The surrounding scenery is gorgeous, especially from the back deck. We would stay here again.

3 night stay in July

I loved this property! Very clean. Stocked with necessities. The only thing that was a bit of a bummer was there is a family with kids that are always outside on a trampoline in what was essentially a shared backyard so sitting on the deck wasn’t relaxing. However, I will also add the mosquitos were particularly awful this time of year so not sure we would have wanted to do this a lot anyway, and they weren’t so loud you could hear them inside. (Neither of those things can be changed and the mosquitos are present everywhere so just be sure to have bug spray and itch cream if you visit in July.) We were also visited every day by a mama bison and her baby. One day right off the front porch. I would highly recommend this property if you’re wanting some calm away from the downtown area of West Yellowstone.

Very quiet, clean and convenient enough to Yellowstone Park

There were a few minor issues but in general this is a good location for visiting the park. So much better than a hotel room! Be aware the home is in a rural subdivision outside of town so you will have to drive for approx 5-10 minutes to reach it, but it is a fast easy drive with no stoplights. I advise arriving during daylight as it is located in a lakeside subdivision that might be tricky for nighttime arrival the first time. It's a beautiful neighborhood by a lake and fringed by mountains. So pretty! The beds were comfortable and even the foldout bed is ok. The house was sparkling clean! Watch out for bison plops in the yard as you walk toward the front door (another reason to arrive in the daylight). Be aware that the property listing states wood burning fireplace but this is not accurate, the fireplace has a gas insert (glad I did not buy firewood!). The heaters in each room are individually controlled and work very well. The kitchen has the minimum of cooking utensils and pans but it was good enough to cook meals. Nice grill too, but would have preferred slightly better knives. Shop in town! The property owner provided bear spray canisters to take with you for your hikes, which saves you time and money! We carried them as recommended but did not need to use them (thank goodness). There is a nice cooler to pack in your car for your lunches when you go to the Park for the day, which is a nice touch. Be sure to get an early start to avoid the line into Yellowstone Park!

Buffalo In The Front Yard

Daily visits from a roaming herd of buffalo AND the Newfoundland puppy next door (Dylan) were unexpected pleasures. The home was lovely. Comfy. Clean. Great size for three adults. The location was fabulous for us while visiting YSNP and GTNP. We were far from the craziness of being “in town” and truly enjoyed the Mountain views. The host was lovely and easy to each if needed. I would stay again when in the area. In fact I’d love to own this one.
