Välkommen till 'Lightly Salted', ett av Swan Beach finaste hus som ligger mot sanddynerna i de vilda och vackra Outer Banks of North Carolina. Ankomst alltid före mörkret eftersom stranden är svårare att navigera på natten. Vi rekommenderar att du sänker däcktrycket till 15-20 psi så ta med dig en däcktrycksmätare. Däck kan återuppblåsas vid någon av bensinstationerna i området eller i länet och läggas i GRATIS luftstationer på Historic Corolla Park, 1100 Club Road, Corolla. Parken ligger på ljudsidan av vägen. Sväng in vid parkvägen, gör höger vid stoppskylt och ytterligare en snabb höger in på grusparkeringen. Luftstationerna kommer att vara i slutet av partiet. Kontrollera områdets tidvattendiagram före ankomst. Lågvatten är perfekt för strandkörning. Följ alla publicerade hastighetsbegränsningar (35 km / h eller 15 km / h när du är inom 300 fot från fotgängare eller vilda hästar). Kör på den hårda packade sanden nära vattnet eller nära sanddynerna. Låt mitten av stranden vara tillgänglig för parkerade fordon. Förarna måste vara 16 år och ha ett giltigt körkort. ATV: er är inte tillåtna. Currituck County tillåter inte heller personliga motoriserade vattenskotrar på havet. Jetski och personliga motorbåtar är tillåtna på Currituck Sound. Den närmaste båtrampen ligger vid Whalehead Club i Corolla. På grund av grunt vatten och gräs är denna ramp endast lämplig för små farkoster. Kontakta Currituck County handelskammare för mer information om Currituck County: s regler och förordningar.

Summer vacation.

Everything was very nice. The pool and hottub was very clean and the house was exactly as described. Access to the beach was easy, just load you vehicle up and drive about a minute to your spot. We definitely recommend this property.

Corolla visit

Excellent location. Beautiful views allowed for a most relaxing stay. Proximity to beach allowed us to enjoy some surf fishing and we greatly appreciated access to the hot tub, it was used every evening! A must return location.

Great OBX vacation!!!

Our family has stayed in Corolla the last few years and taken several day trips to the 4x4 area. This year we decided to book a home in the 4x4 area. It’s an amazing Experience! Phenomenal location! Amazing views! Multiple visits from the wild horses grazing in the yard! Marissa was great, responded quickly and remedied our only issue timely! Wouldn’t hesitate to book with Marissa again.

Absolutely wonderful!!

The property was 100 percent as advertised. Kitchen was the best stocked we have ever stayed in. Home was spacious and beautiful. Host was responsive and helpful when we were stuck on the beach. Recommended a towing company that was fast, easy, and awesome people. Note: tire pressure is best at 12 to 14 pounds.Would recommend 100 percent!!

Relaxation and Adventure

This rental was awesome! We had plenty of room for our group of 10. The rental property met all of our expectations, from the moment we hit the 4 wheel drive beach, to seeing the wild horses daily and catching enough fish while shore fishing to have a great fish fry the last day of our stay. Lightly Salted also had the best stocked kitchen of any VRBO that we have rented. It had everything that we needed! We would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND Lightly Salted as a unique, comfortable and peaceful place to stay!

Loved the location

Loved the remoteness, beach access, pool. Beautiful views. Perfect weather Horses came for a visit once and stayed around the house for quite a while. Kitchen well stocked Ice maker was broken, but host refunded cost of buying bags Only downside to trip was highway 12 traffic- plan to come and go with consideration to avoid peak travel times. Would be the only reason why would not visit again during the summer season

Perfect Location!

Our host was accommodative and was always easy to get ahold of. The house was awesome and big enough for our family and friends. We enjoyed the drive on the beach to get there and the amazing views. The pool and hot tub were a must for our kids and they enjoyed it. The horses came up to the house a few times and were usually in sight all week . The only negative thing to say was the sleep number beds were uncomfortable but that’s a personal preference. We had the best time at Lightly Salted and made many good memories.

First OBX trip

This was our families 1st trip to OBX and this house was great. The adventure getting their was an awesome experience. The horses were near the house daily we even got to see some babies. Down sides were the pool lighs did not work, there was no umbrellas for the tables that were on the deck and in the pool area. The cleaning company could do a better job. Making memories was what this trip was about and we were able to do that with the perfect weather we had all week. We got to experience a thunderstorm at the beach as well on the last night of our stay seeing the sky and ocean change quickly was neat to see.

Adventure - not for everyone

Loved the remoteness of the property, the horses, the beach was beautiful, but not prepared for what was required to travel on the beach without a lot of anxiety. Getting to the beach through the sand requires being in pretty good shape and agile. First impression of the house when we arrived was disappointing, but it grew on us. It's a lot of money to rent to not have the basic amenities provided or be in better shape.

Oasis on the Shore

Lightly Salted is a great house in a great location that gave us the solitude on the coast we were seeking. The house provided unobstructed views up and down the beach with the roar of the surf loud and clear on the decks. We were looking to avoid large crowds of beach goers, and the beach was mostly ours alone when we ventured out looking for shells and shore birds. The sun rises on the last few days were spectacular! The owners installed a brand new refrigerator with icemaker for the kitchen on the day of arrival. The unit was clean, and we have no complaints with any of the other appliances or furniture. The owners were very responsive and even helped me get our Jeep unstuck from sand during our worst weather day (without us asking)! Overall an outstanding experience, and we look forward to returning for our next Outer Banks vacation.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Lightly Salted was very nice -- the kitchen table and counters could have been a little cleaner. It did not appear the pool or hot tub had been cleaned as there was ALOT of sand, bugs, etc in pool and a film on hot tub the whole week. Since there is so much sand on the 4x4, the pool should probably be cleaned midweek as well. Also, while we had a great week, would probably not stay on the 4x4 beach again - just too far from everything.

Family Vacation!

Wow! What a week! This was our first time to OBX, so we wanted it be as perfect as possible! This house was absolutely everything we could have wished for and more. We had plenty of room, the kitchen was fully stocked to meet all of our needs, beds were comfy, pool felt amazing. I have zero complaints! Marissa was so good at getting back with me quickly, even over my silly questions. Watching the sunrise from the top deck was breathtaking & the wild horses visited in the mornings and most evenings. The walk to the beach was very short and beautiful as well. The adventure getting to the house was fun & definitely a memory we won’t forget. If this is your first time driving on a 4X4 beach like it was for us, do not get discouraged, believe me-see it though it’s 100% worth it! We’ll be back to Lightly Salted soon!! Thank you for sharing your house with my family to make a million memories!

Beautiful house in remote location

The house is very nice and provides a unique beach experience. We had 8 people, 4 adults and 4 children. The house was a good size for our group. We weren’t expecting the 4 miles of beach driving to get to the house. We had 3 SUVs, and 2/3 got stuck. One needed assistance, because we didn’t deflate the tires enough (we got stuck in traffic and were getting close to nightfall), and it costs hundreds to get yanked out. Having the pool and hot tub were great. We had dinner on the big picnic table by the pool. The decks are a beautiful place to enjoy morning coffee. The sunrise is breathtaking. Walks on the secluded beach are definitely special. Way better than the more popular beaches. The downside to having to drive on the beach is that it’s a busy road during the day. If you have kids, it can be a little nerve racking to have trucks zooming past you as you try to enjoy a day in the beach.

Great location

Pros: Communication with property owner was absolutely fantastic. I do feel that the house is a bit dated and could use some love. Horses stopped by the house at least 4 times during the week, amazing views of the ocean and just a quick walk to the beach. Cons: The porches need nails put back in place and was saddened to see that the once screened in porch area was no longer screened in. Water could only be used in one portion of the house before water pressure would drop in another shower or kitchen. Laundry left in dryer and dishes left in dishwasher upon arrival; nothing like chores upon arrival on vacation. I now know I will never buy a sleep number bed either; it felt like sleeping on adult version of an air mattress. Staying on the 4x4 beach was a fantastic experience and Great memories were had that will last a lifetime. Don’t follow GPS directions to get to the house - turning on canary was much easier!!!

Wonderful ocean front vacation house!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had been planning this vacation for 9 months, and Lightly Salted more than lived up to the anticipation. It is a beautiful beach home with a lot of extras to make the stay extra enjoyable. The view and sound of the ocean can't be beat; whether enjoying coffee on the deck of the morning, or a beer on the deck at night. It is steps from the beach with an outside covered shower to rinse off that sand. Being pet friendly was a must for us, and Lightly Salted did not disappoint with allowing our golden retriever and border collie. A well equipped kitchen helped us to make steamed blue crab, grilled fresh shrimp, and oysters Rockefeller (all fresh from the local area). A 4wd vehicle is absolutely necessary to navigate the beach and get to the property. Also letting the air out of your tires (we saw a few people get stuck who hadn't) helps. Taking those steps, we had no issues getting to and from the house. The wild horses paid us a visit and used the shade of the bottom porch to cool off, allowing wonderful pictures. The property manager Laura responded to all texts immediately and was SUPER helpful. The only recommendation we have would be for an updated grill, but we are grill fanatics, lol. Overall, an awesome vacation experience!
