On the left bank of Paris, a few steps away from the Seine river, this residential area and – logically – very quiet, is the area of big, large, and majestic avenues with heavy doors hiding embassies and ministries, and vast, green, and airy esplanades. But, an ideal place to stay to roam across Paris, the neighborhood especially overflows with touristic places and museums: between the Invalides and its Museum of the Army, the Eiffel Tower that does not need to be introduced anymore, the Grand Palais and its temporary exhibitions to book many months in advance (but they're worth the wait !), the Museum of Quai Branly and its collection from all over the world, the Rodin Museum and its numerous sculptures, and many other places, your appetite for culture and arts will be satisfied!
For touristic places a bit further, no worry, the area is very well connected but the metro, the bus, and the RER.
Anyway, I'm not forgetting your appetite for good food and wine (one does not come to Paris by accident !) and trust me, the 7th arrondissement overflows with excellent gastronomic restaurants with intoxicating wine cellars... Without hesitation, I recommend you to try the experience of a starred chef, Jean-François Piège, chef of the world-famous Crillon, who offers in his Brasserie Thoumieux an excellent price-quality ratio with no less than the view of the Eiffel Tower! Or the Pottoka, where the chef Sébastien Gravé honors his birth region, the Pays Basque, with refined and surprising dishes. Rush there, you won't be disappointed! It's, with no doubt, my favourite in the neighbourhood.
