I will start with the positives - the location, views, and beach were great. The issues really stem from the fact that this is a new VRBO and maybe the owner has never stayed here. A lot of the issues/annoyances could have neen solved with a little info/communication. Typically when you book from VRBO, the owner sends you some info prior to arrival about the check-in process. Not here. We pulled up and had no idea what to do so we called the number on the booking. I got yelled at by someone saying they don't speak English. We just went in and asked and the front desk checked us in. They handed me a paper with a few things on it, one of which said to call the owner if you rented through VRBO. This became confusing later when we had no water, the AC stopped working, the blinds didn't work, cable didn't work, wifi didn't work, etc... We contacted the owner who said to call maintenance then basically just made excuses and was condescending. At one point, my husband was at the front desk when the owner called them and heard them making rude comments about us.
The unit is lacking a lot of the items that are expected in a well-stocked beach condo. Like Beach towels!! In face there's nothing at all for the beach - no chairs, no plastic cups, etc... Things that really make a beach rental great. The kitchen has only the bare essentials. A few pots and pans, silverware, a couple utensils, and that's it. There are no storage containers, no chip clips, no wine stopper, etc... Not expensive things, but important. There is ONE towel bar in each bathroom for the bath towels. No hooks or anything to hang a wet suit on. Nowhere at all to hang a hand towel or wash cloth. Those had to just sit wet on the small countertops.
A few tips if you're already booked here.
1. The Master is not private - separated from living room with non-locking partition
2. If you plan to cook, bring everything but plates and pans
3. Bring books because you may not get the tVs to work
4. If you need to work while here, bring a hot spot. Wifi goes in and out and cell service is terrible.
5. Bring everything for the beach including towels, chairs, etc...
6. Bring soap and shampoo/conditioner.
7. If theres no water, play with the buttons on the wall in the laundry room
8. To open the blinds, you need to hand turn each slat in order to open/close them.
9. Don't bring small kids - broken tiles and exposed rebar on patio are dangerous
