We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Lou gave us excellent recommendations for things to do and restaurants. Excellent location to walk the cliff walk and even walked to a few of the mansion tours. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Delightful and convenient getaway

Fantastic trip. Friendly host. Perfect location. So much better and more comfortable than a hotel. Very walkable area - especially given the flat terrain. Highly recommend nearby access to Cliff Walk.

Very clean property in a very quiet neighborhood. Easy access to the beach, ocean drive and the cliff walk. We had a wonderful time. The outside picture shows the main house not the apartment behind where we stayed. I wasn’t expecting to have to walk up steps to get to the room; kitchen on the ground floor, not that it was a problem for us, somehow I missed that. No dishwasher which we did miss since we did cook some. Not a huge deal. My wife was pleasantly surprised that all the products in the house from the shampoo to the olive oil spray, and hand soap were products she would buy. All in all an enjoyable experience

Walkable cute little place to stay in Newport.

Hosts were excellent gave suggestions of what to see, places to eat and were available for little requests to make the stay comfortable. Queen and futon bed worked for us for two night stay.

Wonderful Experience

My first vrbo experience and we couldn’t have chosen a better spot! Perfect size and amenities. The cottage was so charming and clean. Excellent weekend

This cottage was simply perfect for the two of us. We have everything we needed, the cottage was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hosts were a delightful and accessible. In a tumultuous world, this place felt like home. Thank you for an excellent stay and we will definitely be back.

Wonderful “home base” for Newport vacation

From the time we checked in until we checked out, we enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower hot. Lou, our very responsive host, asked us to let him know if we needed anything. However, everything we needed was already provided. We enjoyed several of his friendly recommendations. This place is perfect for a couple; and, we highly recommend booking. If we are ever in Newport again, we would book this garden apartment without hesitation.

A lovely property conveniently located near everything.

The cottage is located in a wonderfully picturesque neighborhood that is about a 15-20 minute walk to a nice beach and one end of the Cliff Walk. We enjoyed both. It's a short drive to anything you would want to do in Newport and very near a Stop and Shop for your cooking needs. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen were quite spacious. Lou left some toiletries, including essential oil samples, which were a nice touch. We made use of the grill, washer/dryer, and beach umbrella. My friend and I agreed that it couldn't have been a better stay and we were happy to stay away from the busier area near the water so we had some peace and quiet at night. What's nice is that all the hustle and bustle was a short drive away. Thanks for a great and comfortable stay.

This is the story of our mom, Marie Puerini. She passed away on December 14, 2017. With deep appreciation and love for her classy style we hope to carry on for her.

Here is her story:
'My sister was many years my senior and was already living in Newport when I was born. Needless to say, Newport was a completely different town when I was growing up; smaller, less inhabited, no tourists, no restaurants, few stores, no style, and lots of handsome Navy men. As a little girl, I came on weekends with my mother and fell in love with the town.

Many years later I bought my first house here, gathered my children and never looked back. My youngest son wanted to open a small restaurant when he was 19 years old, so I left a very successful business and we became partners. That was 36 years ago, and the restaurant, now called Ida's,, became very successful.'

My wife and I moved here in May, 2021. We too love Newport ad we are very excited to live here. We hope you will join us for a while as our guest to give you a chance to fall in love with it too!

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Our home is on Almy Court, with views from the second floors that encompass Almy Pond. It is a quiet area, lovely for walking. Just a few blocks down is Reject Beach, open to the public. Reject Beach is part of Bailey's Beach, which is a private beach for the 'Summer Set'.
