My fiancé and I spent the most magical two weeks in Susan's place! It was our first time on the north shore of Kauai and this ended up being an absolutely incredible place to stay, in possibly the most beautiful place in the entire world- Kauai.
First, I should say we are Airbnb Superhosts at home and have very high standards, and this ended up exceeding our expectations. It was an adorable place with a super convenient location for making the most of our trip to the island.
We arrived late from the airport, but it was easy to drive to (there is only really one main road from the airport). There was a parking place for our rental car right outside the house as well. Once at the place, we found bikes, boogie boards, snorkel gear, sunscreen, bug spray, ponchos, water shoes in different sizes, fully stocked kitchen (I cooked a ton!), yoga mats, towels... basically everything we needed to feel comfortable and explore the island!
The house is a quick walk to the famous Queen's Bath, where we would go and watch numerous sea turtles(!!) feeding on the seaweed and swim in a beautiful natural pool surrounded by black lava rocks. A 5 min bike ride is Hideaway Beach, a super secluded and drop dead gorgeous beach where we would snorkel, surf and watch more turtles swim around the coral. There was also a cliff overlooking the reefs and ocean where we watched the most beautiful and colorful sunsets most evenings. From Princeville, it is a quick 10 min drive to Hanalei, where more amazing beaches and beginner to pro surf spots are located. We rented boards for our entire stay and just kept them at the house.
The house itself was a spacious one-bedroom, with an extra outdoor dining patio. There is a large couch, dining table and a daybed in the living room, which gave us plenty of space for working remotely (it was a working-vacation). Another thing I loved was the amount of refrigeration and freezer space, since we bought a lot of fresh fruits and veggies and things that a tiny fridge wouldn't fit. We ate all of our breakfasts out on the outdoor dining table- where the garden, and flowers surrounded us against the spectacularly green & luscious Kauai mountains (think Jurassic Park, or the TV show Lost).
We also asked many questions of Susan who got back to us right away and was extremely kind and patient with us.
This place is absolutely magical; we can't recommend Susan's place highly enough!!!
