Relaxing Getaway

We enjoyed the fenced yard for our dog, walking to the beach a few times a day, and the cool gulf breeze on the upstairs deck.

So stinkin' cute.

House was very clean, stocked & well decorated. I loved that I could see water out the front AND back! We liked & appreciated the cleanliness, the ice maker w/ bottled water, the floorplan, the decor and covered parking. I wish there was a 3.5 rating ONLY due to the stinky water in the area that stinks up the house; but if you need to stay in the area, this is a fantastic house especially for the price. Thanks!

Enjoyed our stay

Everything was great. Home was beautiful and clean. The only thing was that the wifi was not working and tv did not work properly. Not sure if the wifi issue was because of the previous hurricane that had happened. But that was the only issue.

Wonderful Property

We loved staying at Purple Paradise. The huge fenced in yard was the selling point for us, traveling with a dog, and the location too (slightly out of the main part of town). Beautiful views from front and back decks. The house itself was SO nice and roomy, and the kitchen/dining room/living area was fabulous. Bedrooms and bathrooms were large and well done. After reading previous older reviews, we had some concerns, but were pleasantly surprised that all areas needing attention had been replaced or repaired. The owners have done their best to deal with the awful Surfside water by installing a house-wide filtration system and a separate one in the kitchen, so huge kudos to them! The local Vacasa contact was attentive and quick to respond to any inquiries. We most definitely encourage visitors to Surfside to stay at the Purple Paradise.

Ocean Views, Close to the beach, Great layout!

Awesome views off the back deck, you can see the ocean. Quick drive or walk to the beach. House has a great layout, one room has some bunks and another bed, a great place for the kids to hang out in and sleep. No issues with the water there at all, washed clothes (whites) and everything came out clean. The water in the faucets was clean as well and no issues. Beds were comfortable and the AC was cold. Overall a great house and would stay here again!

Good location to the beach, water was horrible (smelled like bad rotten eggs ), grill was covered in mold, ice maker was filthy and growing mold. The mosquitoes were so bad we couldn't even enjoy any of the outdoor space at the house

Great location and deck!

We loved the location, very close to the beach.... just a walk across the get to the beach. House was clean and inviting. Some of the kitchen gadgets were not as clean as expected in my house. The coffee maker needs to be thrown out( so filthy I couldn’t even clean with bleach👎🏻🤮) , along with some cutting boards and other pans. The toaster also was not clean. We also could not find the beach chairs that were listed in the description. Overall, the kids and adults really enjoyed their time.

Awful

We lost electricity due to them selling the home, they didn't provide games, movie library, or even a DVD player. We lost cable on the second day due to them selling the house. The trash dumpster outside was overflowing I assume someone had cancelled trash service. The silverware was dirty, there was hair all over the floor and in hair brushes that were left. We were told that the games and DVD player were taken by the seller. I have asked to be contacted about a partial refund and no one will return my phone or email. So yes, wouldn't recommend.

The house itself was nice and access to the beach was a plus. We loved sitting on the deck with the cool ocean breeze in the evening. The problem with this house is the water system. It has a bad smell and has a yellow and orange color. When we washed clothes in the washing machine, several swimsuits and shirts were discolored and the white towels came out with orange stripes on them. I called the company on the day of our arrival because the bathtubs did not drain. They said a plumber would be sent out and he did come the next day and the tubs drained well after that. Then we were told that the reason the water was so bad was because the chemicals had not been added to the water filtration system. The culligan man came out the next morning and provided the chemicals. He told my husband that it looked like the filter had not been changed for months. It was totally black in color. The water was a little better, after that, but still had a terrible smell. I asked for some compensation or a partial refund for the aggravation and the ruined clothes snd got nothing. Also, we could not go downstairs without spraying lots of bug spray on us because of the mosquitos. I will never rent from this company again.

If it's available - stay here!

Purple Paradise was everything we needed. The location cannot be beat and the amenities were greater than any other rental we have used. The house is great for a single or multiple families. All the kitchen needs are met, and the beds are very comfortable. Both interior and exterior were great spaces. TVs in each room with access to multiple streaming networks were a nice touch. The exterior has ample lighting, and the the hanging lights under the house are a great touch to expand the space for evening gatherings. We will be staying here again during our next trip.

Great place near the beach

Our family of 4 kids and 4 adults had a wonderful stay at the Purple Paradise. Beach is right across the street. We stayed during spring break so ocean water was cold, but still fun to play on the beach. Deck has great views and comfortable chairs. House has everything you need.

Nice beachhouse

Very nice place to stay in this area. Left 4 stars instead of 5 because the drinking water is salty (must bring your own drinking water) and there were a lot of additional charges that I did not happen to notice when I booked the house, which made it almost twice as expensive as I expected.

Amazing home!!

We recently stayed at Purple Paradise for a one week vacation. What a beautiful and comfortable home. The accommodations were perfect for all 9 of us. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was HUGE and had everything we could possibly need. The views from either of the patio areas were wonderful - we could sit out there all day. The fish cleaning station was an awesome addition and was the perfect spot to clean the day's catch! Thank you for allowing us to stay at this "Paradise"!!

Great place to stay

This place was absolutely great and very clean. Actually was one of our favorite places ever. The only reason it got 4 stars was the water situation. Water smelled in every bathroom and in the kitchen and was salty so basically ocean water. Take drinking water for sure and plan to deal with that issue. However I would recommend this place to anyone as the house itself was perfect.

Fully stocked house

The beach house was fully stocked with great variety of plates , pits n pans , blankets , pillows even fishing rods . I went with my small family as well as extended family for 4th of July and they all loved it . We enjoyed a free fireworks show from the balcony on Sunday. That will be memorable. The king bed I slept on was very comfortable and firm , with lovely linen . The beach is nearby and there were towels for the beach everywhere. . The only critique will be that the cleaning crew do a better job between guests in the bathrooms( bathtub could use a scrubbing) and kitchen ( drippings on island walls ). I would recommend to anyone with a large group as the house has many beds ! I cannot wait to be back.

Mom's surprise birthday

OMG how we absolutely loved this stunning home! Great location! Wonderful quality bed &bedding...the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the running water...I wasn't expecting to wash/bathe with Galvestons Beach water...very salty and odorous. Smell got better over time....I would still come back again though!
