Apartment 1, Primer level, is very large, modern, impeccably clean, nicely-decorated and amazingly-located in El Born/La Ribera just a couple of blocks from the Picasso museum and Santa Maria del Mar. The apartment is 4 floors up, there is an elevator. There is a metro stop (Jaume 1) half a block away. We took a taxi from the train station - it was less than 8 euro.
The apartment would be perfect for a group of 4 people, with 3 bedrooms and 1 bath; the large bedroom has 2 twin beds, the 2 smaller bedrooms have 1 twin bed each. It has a full kitchen with washing machine. Probably the greatest features are the 5 huge, floor-to-ceiling, french doors/windows, each with a small balcony overlooking the street below; which gives the apartment great natural light and fresh air.
The area is very popular and there are many tapas bars, restaurants, gelato shops, mini-markets, etc., and an open marketplace (fresh fish, produce, cheese, meat, etc.) on the same street (Argenteria) or very nearby.
The only very minor wrinkle was that the management had not used VRBO previously, so wasn't familiar with how it works; I didn't receive the usual immediate follow-up when I made the reservation so I sent an email after a day or so, and received confirmation. It all worked out fine. There is an office just down the hall from the apartment, so that is convenient if you need anything. You can read numerous positive reviews of this apartment (and other BCNGotic apartments) on Trip Advisor. I checked there for reviews before reserving the apartment, since there were no reviews on the VRBO site.
The apartment was fabulous; we highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again.
I submitted a review earlier - but didn't see it posted - so this one may be redundant....
