Remodeled 1940s home in downtown Mentone is non-smoking, pet-free, and a short walk to local shops and restaurants. It's also minutes from DeSoto Falls. The kitchen is fully equipped. The master bedroom features a king bed & sitting area; the second bedroom has a queen, and the living room offers a pullout couch. Relax on the front porch swing; soak in the freshly cleaned hot tub; or gather around the fire pit. Hiking, waterfalls, golf, and horseback riding are all nearby.

It was clean comfortable cozy up to date 1 thing could be improved is safety rails in the shower.Also needs some pull down shades over the front and back door.also a washer and dryer would definitely be a plus.

Perfect weekend getaway

My husband and I rented this property for a weekend anniversary trip. It was absolutely perfect for the two of us to get away and rest for a few days. Very close to restaurants and just a short drive to the parks to look at waterfalls!

20th Wedding Anniversary

I can't even begin to describe how amazing the owners were from the moment we booked to the time we arrived. It was exactly as advertised and an absolute charm. Everything was so clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. It felt like I was staying at home. Mentone is truly a gem tucked away in the hills. The charming shops and mom-and-pop restaurants in downtown Mentone were our favorites. We met so many kind people. We can't believe it took us so long to visit, but we will certainly be back. Thanks for the amazing stay!

Amazing little cottage

We absolutely loved our stay at this little cottage. It was very peaceful and within walking distance of downtown mentone. It was very cozy and felt like home. The owners reached out the day before our checkout and let us know there was another night available if we were interested and they also stayed in touch which was nice. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and unwind. Will definitely be staying here again!

Another Fantastic Long Weekend in Mentone!

This was our second stay at this wonderful home right outside of downtown Mentone! We love this house for its cleanliness, beautiful decor, full kitchen and amenities. The house is close to many hiking spots. We enjoyed hiking all day and then coming back to the house to make dinner and relax. We hope to return next year!

Wonderful stay!!

This was the perfect house and I’ve already shared it with other family and friends so they can enjoy it as well! From the decor, to the pillows on the bed
 everything was perfectly designed. We’ve stayed in many short term rentals and this was the best. We even had a crazy experience where we left things in the house and had to return to the property not once.. but twice.. the communication was top notch and I was able to go back and retrieve our belongings that were left. 10/10 stay! We can’t wait to stay again!

Perfect house for a couple

The house was clean and well laid out. The owner did a great job with the remodel. The hot tub was nice in that it was in a screened in porch. Very close to The Wildflower Café and The Hatter Café. Plenty of towels, soap and dishwashing supplies were provided. I would definitely stay her again.

Quiet and clean!

We had a great stay in this cottage! There are numerous restaurants and stores nearby and a waterfall at DeSoto state park. Everything was clean and very well taken care of. Privacy curtains throughout. Restaurant hours are a little different, so plan accordingly. We would stay again if we were in the area. Elevation Bistro, Mentone Market, and Nena’s general store were greatly appreciated.

Sweet perfection

The cottage has been renovated beautifully. So many special touches and amenities not listed in the property details. The hosts go over and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable. Great communication from start to finish. The cottage is in close proximity to amazing views and the downtown markets and cafes. We will definitely be back!

Memories made in Mentone!

Our family of 6 (2 adults and 4 young children) stayed in this lovely home over thanksgiving. We have always stayed with family, but decided to venture out and get a place of our own this visit. We could not have been happier with this house. The location was great in Mentone because it’s located close to everything along the main strip, and about 20 minutes from Fort Payne historic downtown. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated to perfection! Plenty of towels to last your entire stay. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for your stay. This home was great for our family but would be perfect for a couple looking for a private getaway or a small family of 4 (or less). We still managed well with 6! Highly recommend!

A Restful Retreat

We can not say enough good things about our stay with Nathan at the Cottage. We were looking for a quiet retreat away from the kids for a couple of days to celebrate our anniversary. We could not have picked a better option. The location was great, very close to the Mentone Market, we were able to walk to get food. But the rental had EVERYTHING we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked and well thought out. The bedrooms had good use of the space and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the hot tub and outside area. The owner was very attentive and excellent to work with. We plan to return for our next respite.

Everything & More!!

My wife and I chose this cottage because it checked all our boxes inside and out. First impressions were pictures didn’t do this house any justice. It was so much more beautiful seeing it in person. It’s exactly what we needed to make our weekend getaway celebration memorable. The Host kept in constant contact with us during our stay, which has never happened to us in the past, after that I knew our selection was spot on. We will forever choose this cottage in our future vacations to Mentone.
