Windy, wet getaway

This gated property was lovely and well kept up. The pools and pool area was always clean. My only problem was with the elevator: the motor was loud and from our unit we heard it every time it moved, for 16 days! One day it was out of order and we had to walk up 12 floors!The unit itself was lovely like the pictures, but you could tell it’s age if you looked at the floors. It had a Well stocked kitchen and all appliances worked well.If we come back to SPI, we will most likely go through Padre Getaways again as they were very accommodating!

Great space and location

We always stay in this building on SPI for the location, but top floor makes it even better. Everything was as described and worked great for our family. Only complaint is same as others have pointed out. check in/out process is a pain with a 1 hour window for check-in and having to go to the office to return keys. People at the office are very nice, but highly recommend a lock box or digital entry. Would also be a nice touch to provide 2 roles of TP per bathroom vs 1 and a few dishwasher pods vs 1.

Great Place

My toddler daughter up to this day says she wants to go back again to the house by the beach ‘is what she says’. She loved it and we did too. Our stay was short, only a weekend but we cooked there , and had fun in the park they have with the kids, the pools, the beach. The property was really comfy for a family of (4),welcoming, and clean we would def stay again.

Great getaway!

My husband and I needed a break from the Houston heat. First time in SPI and got so lucky finding this great unit. The view was outstanding. Unit was very well equipped. Beds and furniture comfortable. Sound of the ocean soothing. Have already reserved for our next stay.

Beautiful condo and perfect location on SPI

Our family loved this beautiful condo in Ocean Vista! It was immaculate and the top-floor views were stunning both bayside and ocean-facing. All appliances and facilities were great. We did get used to the noise of the elevator motor we could hear in the condo, but this was a minor issue for us. We loved the property’s very convenient access to the beach, the grocery store, restaurants, and the pool area was beautiful. The check-in process is the only thing that stands out as an area needing improvement. We were very grateful that the late check-in fee was waived as we encountered a nearly two-hour delay in our ETA from a traffic accident on the bridge to the island. A lockbox/keyless entry system is all we have encountered at any VRBO rental over many years. Having only a one-hour or two-hour window to reach an office for a typical weekend or holiday weekend key pickup is definitely a hassle that we would prefer to avoid. That being said, we really loved the property and would definitely consider staying again in the future!

Lovely condo, great view

We really enjoyed our stay here. The view from the 12th floor balcony was amazing! We could see the bay out of the guest room window as well. The condo was super clean and had just about everything we needed. The condo itself had easy beach access and the pools, hot tub, and playground were clean and uncrowded. Keys and check in were easy to acquire but you do have to stop by an offsite office to get them, and on weekends you have to be there between 3 and 4 which added a little extra stress to our arrival - keyless entry would be a welcome upgrade. The only things that would’ve made the place better were bath mats and better WiFi but we absolutely loved our stay!

Love the condo and location - hated the condo management.

The condo was awesome. I went to request umbrella rental was the condo manager was extremely rude. She told me that umbrella were only for owners, I asked if there were others to rent and she told me NO. Luckily 2 hotels over provided umbrellas and chairs for rent but it took me a day to find them and we almost just purchased a set up from Walmart. We go to beach to be ON the beach so for the Rental Management or the rude Condo manager not to be able to help with a solution was pretty sad. I did tell the Property Rental Management about this and suggested they inform future renters in your condo. With that said, we love the location and your condo- just not your Condo manager.

South Padre Experience

The condo unit itself was great and very clean. The parking and elevator situation at this property needs to be in better condition. One gate to parking lot not working and the elevators become ovens by late afternoon and when staying on 12th floor where this unit is, they are basically your only choice.

Great condo!

This condo was absolutely perfect for our stay! It was prettier than the pictures. The view was incredible. The condo was so clean! We could see the vacuum carpet lines. Check in was smooth and easy for us, as we were there during check in time. The lady working in the check in office was very friendly. The condo had everything we needed for basic cooking. The only complaint we had is there are no fans in the bedroom, and there was only one plug in/floor fan. We let my in laws have it, so another fan for our room would have been nice. There were puzzles and it was fun picking at one all weekend (even though it was missing some pieces!) We would definitely stay here again if we return to SPI.

Check in process -

The check in process if you are after 5pm is ridiculous - I’m on vacation I shouldn’t have to be anywhere at a specific time except maybe a dinner reservation and then you get charged a late fee because you are late and then you have to take the keys back to the office down the street when you leave it would be nice to have the unit on a lock box and then you don’t have to hassle with the office and the extra fee. The keys that are given out contain all of the unit information along with gate codes.. accidentally drop the key whoever picks it up has all the info they need to get in. The unit is dated furniture is Meh scuff marks on walls dishwasher isn’t properly installed stains on carpet shade in master bedroom broke some new skillets would also be nice that don’t cause your food to stick. I will be back to South Padre loved the island - I just won’t stay here.

Perfect Stay

From the moment we walked into the condo, we knew it was going to be a great stay! The view of the Gulf was breathtaking, loved that the was a humidifier, and even put together one of the puzzles. We were right on the beach, which was amazing. The pool and hot tub were clean and we enjoyed the close proximity of the grocery store, food, and shopping.

Nice location- could be amazing with a few changes

The location is wonderful and the condo is well decorated. The view from the porch was phenomenal. My complaints are that we booked for 3 nights and the condo only had one roll of toilet paper, no trash bags, or even salt and pepper. You really need to bring everything with you or plan to go to the store. Also, the condo had a key which was super annoying for when people needed to go to and from the condo. Most places these days have a code which is so much easier. The one last issue is that no one monitors the parking lot and one day we had to wait a while to get a spot because so many cars had parked there without a parking pass. The parking lot is gated which is nice but it’s obvious that a lot of locals know the code to the gate and park there without a parking pass.

Great Beach Condo

We loved this condo. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the view was fabulous. There was a lovely pool and the hot tub was hot enough to please my husband. The thing we loved the most was the thing that drew us to this property when we saw the listing—the furniture on the balcony! The bright colors are great but the most important thing was it was so comfortable, even for an older person like myself with back problems. I’m also short and hate looking through the bars like a prisoner. No problem here. Tall chairs on the balcony. We would definitely stay in this condo again.

Our stay was wonderful! The condo is beautiful, clean, and right on the beach. The deck is shaded by mid morning so it's perfect to enjoy all afternoon! We highly recommend this rental!

South Padre

We have stayed at various condos in South Padre Island for 8 years. While this condo was just as nice as the others, the check in process will keep us from staying here again. The rental property management lacks in making it clear that on weekends, you have a one hour window to check in at the office, not located at the complex. You have to physically pick up a key. All the others have had key pads with a code we got thru email about a week before we arrived. When I didn't get an email I reached out and finally thru several short answers got the information that if we were not there on Sunday between 3 and 4pm, we would be charged $50.00. When I booked it, and looked at my confirmation on my VRBO website, it stated check in after 3pm. When I booked, it did ask if we would be arriving late. We are always there between 5 and 6pm. We drive 900 miles from New Mexico and spend the night in San Antonio. So, we had to make sure we arrived in that one hour window, or needed to call if we could not. So, we did arrive on time, but I knew we were under that deadline. Why don't they have keyless entries.
