Fantastic place to stay

Great family friendly spot! Fenced and gated meaning our dog and daughter could roam free. Just across the road from the beach and fantastic hosts. Look forward to staying again

iconic seaside bach

A really lovely property, but also very chilled out feeling. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, but unintrusive as well. They were so kind to all of us, including the dog. The decor is truly iconic - so many reminders of kiwi bach living. We highly recommend it.

Lovely place and great location

We had everything we wanted and needed. Local cafe and fishnchip shop, hot pools not far away, shopping mall a hop, skip and a jump, beach directly over the road. I would not hesitate to go again.

Amazing location with fun stuff for kids to do. Awesome hosts that went above & beyond for us. Our fur baby enjoyed the stay too. Highly recommend & we will be back.

Lovely weekend

Totally met our expectations. Weather wasn't great but we were warm & comfortable. Very handy to beach and local malls. Place has a warm atmosphere and friendliness of hosts great.

Quaint and homely

It’s a couple of miles outside Mt Maunganui so a car is advisable. There’s a dairy very near, between a chip shop and a breakfast/lunch bar. It’s an easy walk to BayWave and a mall with numerous eateries. Inside the bach I’d hazard it’s best for a family with 2 small kids for the bunk-beds, and an older kid or another couple for the far double room, which is converted from a garage. The main double is pleasant and roomy. The WiFi isn’t strong enough to reach the sitting room and kitchen, both pleasant rooms, as is the bathroom with shower and bath.

amazing cosy bach was perfect 4 our weekend we drove 4hrs ova to the ONE LOVE FESTIVAL and it was so nice knowing we had our own place/space 2 go back 2 with hot showers and home comforts and 2 be able 2 chill out was great

Well equipped and clean

Really enjoyed our stay here. The place was well equipped including great kids toys, cot and bath toys. Owners upstairs were very nice. Comfy beds and everything was spotless. Highly recommend

Lovely bach and awesome owners

We stayed for a few nights and the bach was perfect for us and our little kids. We met the owners, who are absolutely lovely too. Can't recommend enough.

Lovely time at the Mont Beach Bach

Very clean and spacious. I enjoyed my morning tea with the birds out on the patio . Close to everything, wonderful cafe just across the road. Great place to stay if you have kiddos with you , and the water pressure in the shower is better than mine at home . I had the pleasure of meeting my hosts, Gail and Andrew , a beautiful and caring couple. Thanks for the memories. Peace, from Kelly.

A funky beachside retreat

I had a very peaceful 5 days at Mount Beach Surf Bach with everything I needed, including a wonderful bath, excellant shower and a yummy fish and chip shop over the road. Gail and Andrew were really friendly and happy to help with any questions I had. Thank you and I hope to visit again one day.

Fun place to stay

We were two adults and a teenager, the place has everything you want and we really enjoyed our stay. A shop in walking distance, the beach too, dog friendly- the place was super cute and we will recommend to friends or be back ourselves😊

Sunny Weekend Beach Walks

Loved the property, felt very homely in a ramshackle kind of way. So close to the beach access where we walked every day with our little fur ball and also a lovely cafe across the road for morning coffees. It is a trek if you are walking into town. I told me family it would be lovely beach stroll in the beautiful sunny weather we had, may not have told them it was a 14km return walk. That really blew the stress and cobwebs away but I did have to carry out little dog for the last few km's. We enjoyed our weekend here, too short as always and will head back again at some point. Such a beautiful beach, we really are very lucky in NZ. The bach is very close to Bayfair Mall for teenagers to shop and for eating out so that appeased our daughter after the long beach hike. And the restuarants at the dining street in the mall are also dog friendly which made it even better for us. We met Gail who was lovely and we really enjoyed our time here, highly recommend.

My husband & I bought here as we love the area, lifestyle & being so close to the beach. My husband is a keen surfer & that probably had something to do with moving here !

Our bach is ground level. It has a very relaxed & casual feel to it. The lounge has french doors that open out onto the sunny deck with seating & looks out over the outdoor area & established garden. The property is fully fenced.
