Our stay at this Rose Bay property was one of the worst accommodation experiences weâve ever had. What was advertised as a comfortable short-term rental turned out to be filthy, unsafe, and completely mismanaged.The issues were endless:âąSevere mould â black mould on the fridge seal, on window frames, and in the second bedroom from ongoing water damage. The smell was unbearable, and it was an extreme health hazard. The second bedroom was completely unusable.âąLeaks and damage â the toilet leaked, water seeped into the hallway and bedroom, and attempts had clearly been made to paint over the damage rather than fix it.âąUnhygienic facilities â the oven knob was broken and required a match to light, the microwave was rusted, and the Dyson vacuums were full of cobwebs, dirt, and hair from previous guests.âąBedding and linen â spare sheets were stained yellow, the fitted sheet had no elastic left, and there wasnât a single blanket in the apartment despite it being the middle of winter.âąFalse advertising â the listing showed amenities that were not actually available (e.g., dining table, barbecue), making the listing misleading.The photos I provided to management showed the disgusting state of this âholiday homeâ from mouldy fridge seals to filthy drains full of hair. Instead of resolving things urgently, the response was dismissive and slow. I had to escalate the complaint, demand an acceptable refund, which I didnât get.
